Regarding the bass, these are excactly my thoughts! I had few mixdowns and the bass was sharper and much more into the foreground.

But then, after 50 times of listening to various versions, I was too tired and just posted as it was. After the posting I noticed the "blurry" bass and was not so pleased with myself. Will be fixed in the longer version, hopefully.

Also thank you for invitation to the monthly contest. Unfortunately, I am not able to compose in various genres. Simple luck of skills but perhaps luck of interest in them, too.

"Free for all" is more adequate for me. Although, there is a lot of time and frustration involved because of struggling with software and music theory, which are completely new too me.

But gradually if the time and inspiration allows, I would like to get more serious about music. Recently I bought Audiophile 24/94, Phonic mixer, small monitors and AKG-K240 Studio headphones. I will soon buy a new DAW and additional soft synths, too.

That's the life of a guy going through the middle age crisis trying to figure out things.

I have chosen starting late and learning music from the beginning rather than womanizing.

But that was one of the few intentional parts ... this model comes with a manual shifter

Politics or not, a few more brief comments:

TabSel, that was a nice listen -- sorry about the circumstances

Nuisances Sonores -- you can be sure when I get a cat that I will play him your tracks

Dr'X -- very droll piece and a nice surprise because I was expecting video-game music

omalley -- that was indeed fun, though it took a little while to get going with those samples at the beginning -- but it did put a smile on my face how those three tones fit into the groove

jebudas -- a fine piece -- for my taste I would have used less reverb on the vocals to keep more of the natural texture, and brought the organ up a little -- the savior/shadow lines really stand out -- reminded me also of American Music Club

My final useless comments:

Jebudas – i dig the atmosphere of this beautiful minimalist song. Here the discreet drums give the perfect complement to the huge piano. Cool voice, with slightly too much reverb. On the other hand, it’s a pity that we can hardly hear the horn. Great ending that takes almost 30 sec!

Dr.Apostrophe – Yeah, reminds me lots of great moments! Great production. I’d like to know how you managed to make this thick bass. I like the way your voice waves in the air among the brass.

Thomas Christensen – i like this interesting experiment. Some kind of nightmare. Provides my mind with a bunch of psychedelic images.

Emerald Tablet – Musically fresh and nice, this track sonds a bit restrained with respect to high frequencies. Maybe a [EDIT]mp3 compression[/EDIT]problem? Anyway, i hope you’ll make a vox version soon.

Emil-A-Man – I really like this song. Nice dark voice, Emil. A bit too much reverb for my taste, though. You might want to use the pan more often, here it seems that everything is centered.

Vurt – A piece of the Vurtspace i like so much. The ending is a bit harsh, tho. I expected a 10min track with this great intro.

TabSel – Yeah, i love this genre and you did a great job. Your voice is really interesting. The instrumentation is well chosen. However, the fading out at the end is just a frustration for me.

So much great tracks, i think it gonna be the most difficult vote since i'm in.
