They really gotta get their CPU under control. That is kind of a factor
Hasn't been for me so far, but I'm not playing any of the presets, and could care less about them. I also don't touch the built-in effects. Don't need 'em, would rather use my third party plugs every single time, as always with soft-synths (no built in chorus can touch UberMod, no built in delay can touch Valhalla Delay, no built-in compressor can touch Presswerk, and so on....)

I wonder if the presets you had trouble with had lots of FX turned, dunno though. I've been making 6 to 8 voice patches with extensive stereo-offset usage + function modulation, and haven't had any noticeably high CPU situations so far.

Plus, Arturia's FX are horrible. And that's being kind.

I'm one that believes the sum of the collection is greater than its parts. And not saying those parts are bad by themselves in any way. But since I generally use them from an organ perspective first and everything else as an additive harmonic, percussive or tonal pad to those, this doesn't immediately hit me as a "must have" asap.
Thinking more about the price and how the company has done something similar...
What I'm noticing is its list price and how it's higher than previous ones. Perhaps this is a test run of things (prices) to come? I've read often how it's generally better to wait for the next version of V and see what they've added to that before deciding need vs upgrade cost. And it might be a signal as well that the next upgrade price could be 30% higher too...
Secondhand market for their individual licenses appears hard on the original owner. Something I'd rather not deal with.
But let the speculation begin what other new emulations they have in the works for V8.
So far, from all the different offerings of this particular synth emulation, there isn't one from any company I absolutely have to have. Even @ $49.00

Damn! Am I going ever to fix these unparalleled randomly shaped teeth?!

Bought the whole collection (I have some minor (free) Arturia's products, so I was offered the Collection + OB Xa for $249). I haven't the download of OB X though! Anyway I've sent their support an email. They have nice support and they were always very good with me :)

To be honest, I'm more interested in CZ V, Buchla Easel V, DX7 V, CMI and Synclavier (which I missed it after selling it). As I remember, I liked before the organs (Farfisa was great) and the Piano I think was also very good. For the OB X, I don't know. I even didn't see any demo or heard anything. But I hope I will be surprised positively with it :D

Well, maybe SA OB Xa emu will be more accurate (judging from the Legend), but I guess I will be fine with this one. I don't know, this year I'm mostly interested in "digital" emulations/synths not analogue emulations. Ok, let's go seeing my babies :D
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Yeh, I just watched the 'teaser' video- That one ugly synth, and fake neon lighting! I know its all retro but do we need a 1980's design! :dog:
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Think I'll wait for the Synapse one personally.

Here's my deal: if you touch a dial on a GUI, then a trippy animation starts happening in the GUI.

Those lights at the picture are a video effect and not at the actual GUI. This had been already mentioned several times in the other threaed.
The video does also not show all features that are found at the backpanel. Mostly you see the Step LFO there.

FWIW having the GUI closer to the hardware synth like in the Arturia emulation does not make the plugin more authentic. Actually those stripes at the GUI make my eyes hurt after a while. Never had such problems while using the GUI of the Synapse Audio plugn and i had used that for a long time.

There were lots of Synth Edit synths that had the GUI of certain hardware synth but used default SE modules so did not sound anywhere close to the real thing.
You have your opinion, I have mine- I think it looks like it was made with synthmaster and I realy dont like it much. I much prefer the Arturia GUI from what I have seen (especially in terms of available controls and layout, I also like and am used to the Arturia browser and MSEG modulation etc) though I suspect the video promo doesn't do the Synapse OB-X any favours- loose the bling and show the open panels and wat they do (sterio spread per oscillator etc?)

I will get the Arturia anyway on a V Collection update. I will obviusly still give the Synapse a go (I have Legend and Dune 3) but like many have said, I dont need 2 OB-X's so it will probably be a pass from me unless it sounds so amazing I cant resist it.

It's Synthmaker, but... I must admit that was the first thing I thought when I saw it too. :) We'll see. Dune 3's GUI is great, so, if the same guy did it, then I have to wonder a bit.
