This is something that happens all the time , that guy propably created a new acount but using the 'missing no-caps 'posting style is not a valid argument .vurt wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 1:48 pmWatchTheGuitar wrote: Sun Nov 15, 2020 2:08 pm Aren’t you sick of getting accounts banned yet?

On gearslutz I get (wrongfully ) accused of creating a fake acount and the accusations were done bycherry audio + fanboys etc , the same 'no caps argument was given ' .
Really , don't accuse anyone before you're absolutely sure ... confirmation bias is strong when people are in disagreement
Those that create fake accounts are either trolls or do it by adding more weight to their arguments
, which were weak in the first place .
You can always ask the moderator to check the i.p adress .
I once accused a guy of creating a fake acount becasue it was TOO obvious ,kvr moderator aknowledged it

Not buying is one thing.
Not trying? When there's a free demo available to check the product ourselves?
Unless it's a big hassle or I suspect of the installer, if it interests me, I usually at least check the demo myself.

I banned the guy and there are very few reasons that I actually ban and not suspend, if someone is banned there is a good reason. I appreciate anyone who reports these things, it eases my burdens, but I check a lot of IP's daily...it would take a lot to get me to ban someone for using all caps. I would start with redirections, then send a warning, delete more posts made with all caps and then if it didnt stop there would be a suspensiongentleclockdivider wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 2:13 pmThis is something that happens all the time , that guy propably created a new acount but using the 'missing no-caps 'posting style is not a valid argument .vurt wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 1:48 pmWatchTheGuitar wrote: Sun Nov 15, 2020 2:08 pm Aren’t you sick of getting accounts banned yet?

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

well, after seeing how poorly it was coded from the off, and some of the reactions in other places, it's not a company I'd want to waste time onKoshdukai wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 3:03 pmNot buying is one thing.

Despite all critique I am still glad I bought it. Just made a little duophonic impro. If I need a ringing filter, I can still switch to Arturia or TimeWarp (dead cheap at the moment at PA)

I couldn't get any good sounds out of CA2600 and it bothered me a lot.. having said that, your improvisation was really nice and sounded good! As is always the case, it's not the tool, it's the user..Tj Shredder wrote: Fri Nov 20, 2020 7:48 am Despite all critique I am still glad I bought it. Just made a little duophonic impro. Thanks, btw. the sound is the unmodified "band together" preset... It just led to that kind of playing... And is a mind opener regarding duophony and eventually paraphony which could be applied to patches of other modulars.
If you use the second voice as modulator for a ring modulation of the first note for example, you get into areas Stockhausen would have dreamed of. In a way he missed it, though the 2600 was available back then...
Regarding the filter, I just went to my local music shop and tested the filter of Behringers Odyssey clone just out of curiosity. It has 3 different modes, 1 2-pole and 2 variants of a 4-pole. Its really hard to get into that beautiful ringing mode I get out of Arturias emulation, the range where it is interesting is almost not controllable, it kind of switches pretty fast into self oscillation.
That is a huge advantage of a digital emulation, the control is much finer and in the end we want to use the tools in musical interesting ways. An emulation could give what the original gave but it could also enhance it...
The 2-pole of the Odyssey actually does do self oscillation as well! I think originally it had the same filters as the 2600, others might have more knowledge about these details than I have though...

KVR friends,
Cherry Audio is pleased to announce the release of CA2600 1.0.25 / Build 94. CA2600 1.0.25 now includes the "CA2600 FX" plugin, allowing the CA2600 to be used as an effect as well as an instrument. The filter Resonance slider now offers increased resolution for tweaking near the point of self-oscillation. In addition, we've fixed some compatibility issues with FL Studio and Pro Tools that caused issues for some users, and we've re-engineered CA2600's DSP to operate at the host's native sample rate, eliminating all resampling for improved performance and sound quality. We've also fixed a possible crash for some users running CA2600 in Demo Mode in certain DAWs.
The new CA2600 1.0.25 update will automatically download the next time you run CA2600 (unless you've disabled automatic updating). Or, you can download the update immediately at https://cherryaudio.com/instruments/ca2600/download
The complete change list for CA2600 1.0.25 / Build 94 is available here: https://cherryaudio.com/instruments/ca2 ... on-history
