I wish the programmer made Avenger as light on CPU as Rapid.

That to me is the best part of Rapid, it is exceedingly CPU light for what it does.


btw, I think the person was trying their hand at 'humour' with the developer now works for Avenger (they are two different René's involved).

One of them always programmed for Vegeance.

You will see Keilwerth Audio logo on most if not all vengeance plugins, yep including years before avenger was released.

and other is René Sanders, he is the Parawave Guy.

yes Mirko does third party work as far as I know for quite a few developers (I believe, he also did the reverb in synapse audio's obsession for instance).

Correct, it is built into Obsession. Furthermore it is one of the available reverb programs in DUNE 3.

He did not program a new reverb for Avenger 2 but rather licensed the one in RAPID to them. And he has been designing sounds for them for quite a while. The RutaVerb was already shown in an Avenger teaser September last year ()

Mirko is in a picture on the Vengeance Facebook page of June 4th, looking very much alive. So that's good news too. All in all it just looks like he is caught up by making a living and only has some spare time to spend on RAPID, which is totally fine.

IIRC, the Shimmer one.

Or... browsing the manual, I think it's (obviously) the RutaVerb.

Personally, I also find it somewhat arrogant that the author does not communicate with his users. I don't expect big updates every week, but at least a confirmation that the author hasn't given up on development. In my case, for example, it is important that I can open and edit my DAW sessions today even after several years. Can I rely on Rapid if maybe in a few years this instrument will not be supported? Maybe my concern is unnecessary, but the author does not make things better with his behavior.

P.S. I own Rapid and several extensions

There is nothing arrogant about it. The least developers communicate with their users via forums or social media.

People just become insecure if there hasn't been an update for a few months, and if there is no news posted on social media for a while. But, that's rather because they expect something like that, not because it's a necessity, or something which used to be the norm at any point in time.
