You're absolutely right, and, that's the reason why I keep Pigments as well. It has wavetable import, the wavetable engine actually sounds quite good for what it does, and, it has granular, which might become interesting to me at some point.DrGonzo wrote: Mon Sep 18, 2023 8:57 amWhere you using the internal synth engine? If always find that part to be the weakest part of Pigments. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but I feel the oscillators need to go to 11 and start glowing a bit.chk071 wrote: Mon Sep 18, 2023 8:03 am I made some sounds with it yesterday, and pretty quickly turned to other synths again for these sounds. What it does nicely are pad sounds though. But, for rather analog sounds or sequences, I definitely would use other synths.
Just a thought. Try seeing Pigments as a semi-modular environment. I found it to be very helpful to create your own templates rather than using the factory init. That way you can also do some routing with the effects to have a dedicated block to just saturate the signal a bit.
I just wanted to point out that, for analog stuff, I simply prefer other synths. Pigments falls a bit short in that department, and, its sound shaping parts also play a role with the other engines, so, it's not just that. But, as I wrote, for pad sounds, Pigments sounds quite nice to me. I like synths which do everything well, but, it's not as if Pigments is the only synth which only does certain things well, so, no problem.

That's absolutely right. I like to use Pigment where it shines and that's digital flavoured sounds. FMing two wavetables is what I miss in Zebra but can do it in Pigments.chk071 wrote: Mon Sep 18, 2023 11:08 am I just wanted to point out that, for analog stuff, I simply prefer other synths.
Bring back life into single samples with fm, ringmod, wavefolder, ... and its modulation system are my highlights in Pigments.
Though there is not one single factory preset I could make any use of.
