So should I withhold updating? Dunno this thread kinda blew up in size and I didn't follow. Would anyone be kind to summarize what are the issues?

I would say, first and foremost the GUI. IMO, it's worse than v1's GUI, and some of the text values are literally unreadable on full HD resolution, as the text is tiny, and the contrast (red text on dark background, ugh...) is very bad.
Further, I noticed issues with the bipolar controls, and manual parameter value input. For example, if a parameter has -63 to +64 value range, and you double click the control, and type in 0 to put the parameter value to 0, the actual value switches to -63, because the bipolar controls act as if they were unipolar.
Also, when you type in 1 or 2 for the arpeggiator octave range, the value switches to 2 or 3, maybe because the range is null based.
Those are just two issues I noticed, I haven't really used v2 much in the meantime. There are probably more issues. Of course, 23 € is not much, and, if you're on a M1 or M2 Mac, the upgrade is even mandatory to run it natively. For Windows, I don't know. I prefer the v1 GUI, AND there are GUI related bugs, and even some almost unreadable elements.
I'd demo it before buying. Some seem to prefer the v2 GUI.

If the GUI was really good, and they had updated the browser I would consider updating but this GUI is one of the ugliest ones I have seen, totally 0 effort, it comes close to those plugins as Poly Ana. The old GUI lacked resizing but the graphics were way nicer.

I agree. And, that's why I hesitated for a while, but, decided the continuous effort and support are worth it in the end. I VASTLY prefer v1's GUI. I stick with what I said earlier in this thread: The GUI is a bit unworthy of Waldorf. I wouldn't have put my "quality seal" on it.

People keep saying this. I had re-downloaded Largo a couple weeks before the update and this is it running on my M1 Mac. I'm running Live in native not Rosetta (which is the only way I think it will load x86 plugins)chk071 wrote: Tue Nov 21, 2023 4:09 pm if you're on a M1 or M2 Mac, the upgrade is even mandatory to run it natively.

Hm, I really thought it wouldn't be M1 native, but, if it is, my bad. Might be that they added i with the 1.8.0 update.GruvSyco wrote: Tue Nov 21, 2023 4:35 pmPeople keep saying this. It's not just you. I keep reading it everywhere. Maybe because it's officially in the marketing blurb for Largo now... I don't know.chk071 wrote: Tue Nov 21, 2023 4:46 pm Hm, I really thought it wouldn't be M1 native, but, if it is, my bad. Might be that they added i with the 1.8.0 update.
I would love a scalable GUI but, as it stands, I'll just keep using what I have until I have to upgrade or want to upgrade. I'd personally rather they do an Iridium VST that gets across the board upgrades along with all 3 Iridiums and both Quantums.

I think Live in native mode is able to run some plugins in non native mode as I understand. I do not know the details about this subject. But I remember having read about this somewhere. Maybe AU only ?GruvSyco wrote: Tue Nov 21, 2023 4:55 pmIt's not just you. I keep reading it everywhere. Maybe because it's officially in the marketing blurb for Largo now... I got an answer from waldorf support, they are working on an update (also includes updates to the design and readability of the GUI).
I don't know if they will fix the browser and resize problems I asked for... but there is little chance..let's hope

Oh another question: is it a separate side by side install or does it run over v1?
Thanks for the breakdown, chk071! To be perfectly honest, I was never enamored with v1 GUI, too gray and non-descript with kinda bad contrast in some areas. And let's not mention editing those arpeggiator steps...

They can run side by side (as stated), the main issues I had with it have mostly been fixed, I can live with the graphics, and it still sounds good.
It could be improved more though.

Picked up the upgrade. Lot's to figure out, but there are some pretty great presets in here. Running on a osX 14.1 Sonoma in a Mainstage setup. It runs along side the 1.0 version... but that is sitting idle while I bask in glow of the burnt red interface of 2.0. Note for those who RTFM as poorly as I do. When asked to Activate your license. Don't paste in the License key. It's asking for the Activation Key... the License key here, wont work. Don't ask how I know this.
