Just out of interest, does this synth have a granular engine or effect? I notice it has a sample playback feature, adding granular seems like a natural next step. Same sort of direction as Pigments.

Oh, like to compare?egbert101 wrote: Wed Aug 02, 2023 3:59 pm Just out of interest, does this synth have a granular engine or effect? I notice it has a sample playback feature, adding granular seems like a natural next step. Same sort of direction as Pigments.
Text-to-wavetable > Pigments
Spectral oscillator warping > Pigments
Granular stuff < Pigments
My advice: Do not compare. Enjoy the options.

It would be cool if Vital had an arrpegiator but I sort think it's pointless to want all synths to have the same features. The LFOs are snappy enough for this purpose plus I have Pigments for that anyway.elassi wrote: Wed Aug 02, 2023 4:04 pmOh, like to compare?egbert101 wrote: Wed Aug 02, 2023 3:59 pm Just out of interest, does this synth have a granular engine or effect? My only complaint with Vital is the reverb. It's just lacklustre. Beyond that, it's easily one of the best synths out there.

Love the skin. Anyone knows where to find it?liquidsound wrote: Wed Aug 02, 2023 1:07 amI agree…Teksonik wrote: Tue Aug 01, 2023 11:06 pm Vital is capable (in the right hands) of making awesome sounds. Is it perfect? No of course not, nothing is perfect.

You might look at the Vital forums. People have shared a ton of skins there. You might find that one or one you like better.

Watching this video gives me a great view into the capabilities of Vital. I really enjoy playing synth emulations, but there is a vast depth in Vtal. It’s a useful tool.liquidsound wrote: Wed Aug 02, 2023 1:07 am

Even though I reach for Serum as my first tool, for its pristine sound (my subjective judgment), Vital invites me to exploration in a different way and quite often with pleasant result.Reverend Rhythm wrote: Thu Aug 03, 2023 12:43 pmWatching this video gives me a great view into the capabilities of Vital. I'd also say the chorus isn't great but I hardly ever use chorus so small complaint. I love the multiband compressor, would love it as an external effect. I use the Xfer OTT but it just doesn't have the same crispness.Monsieur_FyP wrote: Thu Aug 03, 2023 11:25 amVELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Tue Aug 01, 2023 10:21 pm The only thing i seriously don't like in Vital is reverb, need better one definitely.+ 1swilow11 wrote: Wed Aug 02, 2023 10:20 pm My only complaint with Vital is the reverb. Your best bet for a 'good' Vital sound is actually turning off most of those effects and exchange them with third party ones.
You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

i think its flabbergasting that so many in here either are oblivious to what vital sounds like, or just cant hear it, or even worse, dont care. Its super interesting but also very shocking.
I mean, its ok to say a synth doesnt sound good. Its OK. You dont HAVE to like it. Sometimes I feel KVR is just an echo chamber and people are just saying what other people say.
Literally any other synth, doesnt sound like vital. Free or paid. Vital has a very unique sound. To pretend it doesnt is embarrasing.
it reminds me of a place i frequent from time to time, where everyone are soo in love with Elden Ring, the video game. And as soon as someone says its meh, or not good, all the npcs come out the woodwork to defend it, like its life or death. Its crazy!

I've placed several folders of patches manually in the user preset folder and they don't show - it doesn't seem to have a way to refresh the browser

Which one is Vital? A or B?

@lfo8
one is much louder than the other. and like i said previously, its much easier to hear in a supersaw where there is tons of movement and phasing. its very hard to hear just with a single saw wave. much of the synths color comes when there is movement, like a supersaw. would you mind doing that as a test instead? edit: im just getting loading now when i listen again, but if i had to guess based on this it would be B is vital
