haven't even heard of some of these...

seriously, i'd be interested to know how people google some of these answers. For example, how would you find that rammstein cover if you didn't already have an inkling?

maybe why this is called a 'quiz'...... ;)

Um, it's a music quiz and not a search engine skill test eh ;)

Still, once you know the link you can do an educated guess and search that.

OK, I'll reveal my secrets... :-o

Once I'd got Japan, Spain and (after a bit head-scratching) Portishead, I worked out the link, and looked here:

http://deletionpedia.dbatley.com/w/inde ... _at_14:04)

The rest of it was a bit of a slog, to be honest, with lots of dead ends; luckily there weren't many Rammstein album covers to look through. For Danzig I followed the Giger idea, and looked here:

http://www.giger-art.com/giger-music-art.html

Laibach album covers are generally quite similar, so once I'd seen one I knew I was on the right track.

I didn't get the centre-left one until more details had been revealed; I thought it might be Soundgarden (named after a 'sound garden', apparently) but couldn't find a cover to match. Of course it's obvious now...

[Edit] BTW Danzig is the singer/guitarists's real surname, so it doesn't quite fit; it just happens to also be the german name for Gdańsk.

To be honest, half the challenge is finding a question that isn't Googleable...you can't really get away from the fact that it's out there, and people will probably use it!

Looks like I should have dug a little further...

oh absolutely, I always try and set questions you can't easily google. Just genuinely curious how others approach a question like this.

@Blank_Frank: Thanks, didn't know that site existed... So I guess your knowledge of Laibach was still necessary to complete the quiz. 'Texas' was one that jumped straight out at me for some reason (well, multi million selling album so 'out there' in pop culture land...)

But, enough!

On with the quiz...

Brian Eno
Imogen Heap
Missing Persons
The Cure

Who's the odd one out...and why?

This question is about a man's rag.

A man's rag can be seen in different ways.

oh, anagrams...

i know Eno has recorded as Ben Arion, The Cure have a tune 'Cut Here' and IHs album was called 'I, Megaphone' so...

I'm guessing Missing Persons have a tune or album that's an anagram of their name (see, not googling :)) so Brain One would be the odd one out: the others have named stuff with anagrams whereas he's gone under an anagram himself.

?

Well, you happen to have hit upon the right answer, for more or less the right reason. The concept I was going for was that the others have released albums or tracks based on anagrams of their own name, whereas Eno released a track called "The King's Lead Hat", which was an anagram of Talking Heads.

I think your answer might be better... :dog:

(Oh, and Missing Person's first album was called Spring Session M.)

I think it was on some Michael Brook recordings (among others)

He's apparently quite the anagram fan, 'Before and After Science' comes from 'Arcane Benefits of Creed' though I'd wager it was the other way around.

My go then? Be back asap...
