It all depended on the timing. If 8 for 1 was reached earlier maybe it could have gone further. No one originally planned for it to be any more than a 5 or 6 for 1. But we didn't realize it would be this big.

Anyway, you DO get more than 8 for 1 by getting it from esoundz which still has it available up until the 14th at 5pm EST.

Also, besides the 9th title of your choice from our selection which is different we have yet ANOTHER "Wild Card" library (released by Tuesday or Wednesday this week into your esoundz members area if you bought the GB at least once from us) and that includes some previously unreleased SampleTank sounds from Sonic Reality. Not bad all for just $50!!!!! We hope you are enjoying the bargain and that while it isn't perfection to everyone it is surely full of inspiration to write music with and that, to many people, is priceless.

Here's the still active link! http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?Prod ... =XT2KVREXT

Make that 6986 ;)

Awesome amount, that.
My communication might improve if I could just hit the right keys! I'll edit my previous post.

I had to pay 4 Euro VAT for the one Group Buy I took from IK (regular 20 Euro with JamPoints - but at the end I had to pay 24 Euro). Not nice that...

Bummer to find out it might have been allowed to go further. Peter's 8x1 announcement on the IK site sounded pretty clear that 8x1 was the end of the line. That was when the pace dropped off considerably. If that door had been left open, I believe we would have topped 8000 users before it ended. We certainly would have crossed 6000 much sooner.

Squids - I don't see ReTank versions of the Up Tempo and Down Tempo loops collections. Which ReTank/RAW titles went into creating those XPansionTank sets?

That's the Government, not IKMM. But it can be a bit of an annoyance. The small print on IKMM's site does say that all prices exclude VAT. Purchasers outside the EU would not pay VAT.

The demo sounds were already in the browser and usable before I downloaded and extracted the SampleTank 2 XT Sounds folder from IK. I've linked a photo of the folders. http://tinypic.com/r/2ia7wcy/6

Does anyone else have this issue? Or is it just me? D;

That's the part that hits me as really, really odd.

I don't know for sure what happens when you first install XT (before installing any sounds) as I already have XL, so I haven't yet installed XT. (I will soon - the intent is to have multiple workstations running simultaneously, so the extra licensed player will be important.)

But I did unzip the XT library to see what was in it. That's why I said earlier that *all* of the "demo" sounds you named before were in subfolders of that SampleTank 2 XT Sounds folder.

Specifically, if you open up that "SampleTank2" subfolder in your picture, you'll find a whole bunch more folders - Bass, Brass, Drums, Ethnic, etc.

Open the "Piano" folder and you'll find that 73 EPiano patch and the HQ Free Piano patch that you mentioned before. Likewise, open up the "Winds" folder and you should find that Alto Sax patch.

Do you still have the ZIP file for the SampleTank XT Sounds set? If you do, try this experiment: delete the entire SampleTank XT Sounds folder. Then have SampleTank relist the instruments and see if those demo sounds go away.

It's just a guess, but it could be that installing XT sets up those demo sounds in that folder. And then when you install the full XT library, it adds the rest of the 1 gig set to that folder (including overwriting the files of the demo sounds).

If so, deleting the whole honking folder should make them go away. And then you can re-install that library if you wish, knowing then that the entire SampleTank XT Sounds folder is your "demo junk" folder.

Those are dupes. Even when deleted, the freebies are still there.

Did you ever install a demo version of SampleTank in the past?

I really can't imagine how you're seeing what you're seeing, so a support ticket with IK is still your best best, though.

I'm really confused about what you're seeing... earlier you called them "demo patches" and said that they were "The patches that are there before downloading and installing any of the downloaded sound content". Where is it that you think these demo patches came from, ultimately?

I don't recall that SampleTank ever came with "demo patches". The only sounds you get are in the "downloaded sound content" from your IKM user area, which in your case I assume would be the 1GB "2XT" library. Is that what you are referring to as "demo patches"?

The bottom line is that when you click on the "PREFS" button in SampleTank, the "Root" directory name that you see there - and all the sub-directories below it - are the ONLY place that ST will scan for sounds. If you see it in the browser window, it is somewhere within that root folder. And if you change anything within that folder (move, add or delete sounds) then you need to hit the "RELIST" button to get ST to refresh the browser window.

That really does sound like what happens when you don't do a "RELIST" to refresh the browser window. The sound files may be physically gone, but they're still listed in the browser. Do you get an error when you try to load one of these deleted freebies?

Yeah, well I was the one who had to approve the number of SR libraries... we had secretly come up with a possible 10X1 if it reached 10,000. But this other VI Group Buy was pre-scheduled and even this overlap wasn't planned either... that's why we're continuing it just a little bit longer on esoundz for the late comers. Although after June 14th that's it and it is back to a 1X1 deal!

Up Tempo is material that is on the Drum n Bass and Down Tempo is material that is on Trip Hop.

You're a pro. That was it. I had totally forgot. The demo stuff was installed into some random temp roaming data/virtual store folder. Cheers!

If I buy from eSoundz I will get 10 packs for the price of 1 till 14 june? So the groupbuy is still available?

Post

Officially, no. Unofficially, through ezsounds, yes, until 14 June, but I wouldn't leave it till then to decide, as you will need to make your picks from IKMs site and register your choices before or on 14 June.
