Sorry to join the party so late, but can anyone tell me what the differences are between the mini and ComputerMusic versions?
Thanks.
Thanks.

No problem. The CM version gives more control over the parameters as you have full access to the Synthesis and Master pages whereas in Mini you must use randomization for everything. However the CM version is limited to 2 notes of polyphony whereas Mini has 12 (randomization selects between either monophonic or 12-note polyphonic mode).Cygnus X-1 wrote:Sorry to join the party so late, but can anyone tell me what the differences are between the mini and ComputerMusic versions?

I've been mucking around since last night working on a modification of Scanned Synth's 'Classic' skin. Not sure if this will be accessible for v1 users, but if I can make it so, I'll let you know.
Anyways, here's the results of a looonnngg night of insomnia, very much still a work in progress:

Yes, I know, it's not Bitplant or Northernbeat graphics..
Opinions, if I dare ask for any?

hey donovan that looks trig man. quite sickle-ish. i know that's a stupid thing to say but i equate that adjective to sophisticated and dark textured imagery. i like the general feel of it. this is a plug that cthulu would enjoy using
i especially like the psycho and danger buttons

@Sickle: What grymmjack said!
You're right, you're not Northernbeat or Bitplant. Why would you want to be? You're sickle!
What you have in common with those guys is that you have a style all of your own. Like gj, I also equate sickle design with dark, textured and stylish. If we were talking about your music you could add scary and disorientating to that list too!

This is a great synth if you like to play with noise and crazy sounds that can't easily be made in other synths, though it can also make some beautiful pads and soundscapes. I made a whole bunch of patches for it during the beta, some of which made it to the final but John says its OK for me to share the rest.
This is a bit of a ragbag collection - mostly FX and Pad/Ambient sounds - some rather nasty but a few are pretty heavenly. Many are variations on a theme like several aiming for that Monolith sound from 2001 (Ligeti's Requiem) and some other attempts to create a Fairlight type choirpad sound and other airy Fairlightly stuff as well as some cool spaced out filter noises and Pick Floyd type craziness inspired by Ummagumma.
