One feature I'd love to see added is the ability to define frequency steps when using knobs. For example, if using the 550 EQ's I might want to set the lows at either 100, 200, or 300, the mids at 800, 1200, and 3khz, and the highs at 7k, 10k, and 12k. This way, I could create my only little 550, or Pultec or Neve and not have to worry about frequency selection. I'd set those up one time, save it as a preset, and those would be my only frequency options for each band.

Actually, with machines as monstrously complex and flexible as Compassion and Equilibrium, I've often thought that a user configurable front end saved per preset would be an interesting option. You could then not only emulate the behavior of classic processors but also their workflow.

Mind you, this will have been "going round the block to get next door" in its similarity to a dev using one flexible design to generate multiple plugins. Dave: what have you done?!? ;)

Is this true? Will the Equilibrium/Compassion bundle price also go up?

Are you going to model something like this or is there something already in there?

And is the price for existing owners of EQuality to buy going up on April 1st?

:)

Any extra discounts for customers who already own both compassion and equality in the pipeline?

I'm of a divided mind about time limited, unrestricted demos. They are great but it's a problem when you're not sure when you'll be able to afford something and it turns out if takes so long to get the money together after the demo expires that you can't really remember how you felt about it.
We have the same birthday. Happy B day. :)

P.S. I already bought EQuilibrium for myself. :D
Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. Well, with bmanic'ss assurances I'll run the demo as my sort-of present to myself.

And happy birthday Anthony!

And happy day off to Dave G. :)

P.S. Anthony, we must have some kind of cosmic connection. My first name is Dave :) but my middle name is Anthony. :D

The late, great actor Steve McQueen also shared our birthday.

Dave said a while back you get a discount if you own Equick or Equality even more off if you own both. So it's just the eq's. First 30 days of Equilibrium is cheaper too. I got £45 pounds off already owning just Equick I don't think I got any knocked off for owning Compassion.

Oh happy Birthday guys.

Does the Analyzer eat CPU even when the EQ is closed?

Ha, that's great! :)

Couple of things:

- it'd be awesome to remove bands from the "channel strip" section of the GUI (where all the knobs are)... I rarely if ever use the "curve" section of the EQ with the little handles per band, I'm more of a "tweak each knob" guy, so it'd be cool to be able to delete bands from here as well as create/tweak bands...

- it would be pretty rad to be able to export EQuality presets in a format that EQuilibrium can read, so that you can "port" EQuality instances to EQuilibrium and have all the settings open exactly as they were in EQuality, to use as a starting point to then tweak & develop further using all the new bits in EQuilibrium... this would be pretty rad!

Also, there's some GUI drawing issues in Live 9.0.2 64bit on Mac... when you first instantiate the plugin the GUI window draws too small, you have to close & reopen it to get the window to draw correctly-sized (GUI size set to Medium)...

Loving the EQ so far!

How do Q values worth with the emulated bands? Seems like the Q can be very different from type to type, which is what I'd expect. However, when I load a 550 peak, is the default Q settings comparable or equal to the default Q on a 550 peak? Or would I need to adjust the Q manually to get them to match?

Great, finally got the download and look forward to taking this baby around the block. :)

Dave's dealing with the issues at the moment; we've noted everything that's been said, working on resolving as much as possible asap.

I love this, but I would like to see some irregularities seen cleaned up before me making a purchase. I mean, this plugin gives you option to pick Kaiser window along with others and look at the impulse response.

I don't know if I would use that, but... it is very very very impressive. That alone deserves it to be purchased and go down as one of legends.

Only thing Dave needs to do is a dynamic EQ (linked with compassion?) and matching. Then he is done. DMGAudio can close shop and just keep making money a la Synlenth1.

I really don't see how it can get better.

Emulations I would want to see: massive passive, Trident A-range sort of thing, as that's my favourite EQ emulation. But regardless, it is fun to turn the graph off from time to time. I mean, it shows little too much, and the "magic" the analog enthusiasts go on about is lost. :D

No other EQ on the market can touch it. Sorry. If I was Richie Hawtin or Eddie Kramer, that would have made a good quote...
It's all about the wavelets. I dream of the perfect additive synthesis.

I love that you can turn the graph of.

But I did notice this. Using the Elliptic High Pass with an 18dB slope gives me a huge bump down at 20hz. Huge. Not on any other slope though. I tried various Q settings but it's the same. I only noticed this one so far so I will check again to see if it's a consistent thing.

Finally why does the red light come on near the bypass? Does the plug-in actually clip?

Heya,

Elliptics DO ripple in the stopband, so that's expected. Will depend on Q settings and frequency, of course. You should be able to move it, and make it better/worse with Q.

The plugin doesn't actually clip; it's just an indicator, in case you're going to a DAC or something that might clip next (i.e. you have TDM plugins next in the chain).

Dave.
