The sound-designers have submitted their patches now. The factory content is finished now.
I am currently polishing some details. I don't want to rush. Everything should be perfect from the scratch

Cool, I can't wait to try it. I don't need any more synths but I may buy it just because I like the very simple but very nice color scheme if it sounds good. Very excited.
Once the public beta is available will we be able to pre-order it then, or will we need to wait for the final version to buy it?

Why would there be a public beta?!
If the developer is thorough and perfectionist enough and has all major platforms and hosts at his disposal, he can do all the testing himself and bless the public with a finished product, sooner or later
A public beta can lead to a flood of contradicting suggestions, false bug reports, etc. Very time-consuming for the developer to make sense of...

There is a gigantic number of possible host/hardware combinations. It's impossible to test everything.
Users also sometimes discover exotic bugs because the do very unusual things - mostly since they don't know how the product works. As a developer you know how the product works and operate the product in the 'right' way. As a result you can not discover these bugs.
Fixing a bug after the release is much more time consuming than when you find it during the development-time (additional costs for support, rolling out updates, website, testing, etc).
Furthermore it is a frustrating experience for people when they spent money on something that doesn't work properly.

Totally agree! There’s too many unfinished products about these days.Markus Krause wrote: Fri Jan 15, 2021 8:22 am There is a gigantic number of possible host/hardware combinations. It's impossible to test everything.

that is what a beta team is for....in reality, the fact release is always a "public beta"e-crooner wrote: Wed Jan 13, 2021 8:52 pm Why would there be a public beta?!

Please don't turn my words in the mouth. I never said this. I wrote:

Our products are known to be very reliable.User's question:

Where did I say your products were unreliable? Where did I say you don't give free updates?
I interpreted one part of what you said about public beta testing, no need to give me proof for unrelated stuff. I simply paraphrased you, pretty accurately I think.

Bull and you know it. Use of 'wrong' and apparently are snarky even in the absence of vocal intonation. You neglected to mention anything about the nature of the bugs Markus was describing i.e. exotic/edge case and instead you implied that Markus was trying to shift blame of buggy software from himself onto users (doing it wrong).revvy wrote: Fri Jan 15, 2021 9:27 am Where did I say your products were unreliable? Every mid tier to bigger company: Spends hundreds of thousands or millions of $ on beta testing.
KVR Audio: Beta testers are not needed.

The makers have the knowledge and use the synth in the 'right' way. The public don't originally have this knowledge so they use the synth in the ______ way.
I wasn't implying anything, I am now flat out stating I've never heard the public beta testing process referred to in that way. Some original thought from Markus, whether I would have worded it that way myself or not. But thanks for playing.
