I voted, sorta. It's been busy over here and I wasn't able to devote nearly as much time to the task as I would have liked. To minimize the damage of any one vote and maximize the distance from my own track, I've only entered 4s and 5s; either I liked your track, or I liked it a lot.
I'm grateful for everyone who had the time to really listen to my music this month, and sorry I couldn't reciprocate.

Voted. Hands down one of the best OSCs I've ever been a part of. It was fascinating to hear what others came up with when given the opportunity to choose their own instruments.

OK, I think I'm as done with voting as I'm going to be...

@doctorbob, hats off to you, sir! I was going to expound on how I had to mix while walking to school through the snow, uphill both ways, but now I concede. I don't know how you possibly managed with only 1/2 a track to work with! :hihi:

@silverpants, absolutely right, it was all about bouncing, with little mixing back then. Yes, the 90s me would be stunned at what I have at my disposal now. In fact, the 2020s me is stunned at what I have at my disposal now. Turning on my computer now, it's like a smorgasbord for my 10 year old inner self. It's amazing!

I have voted! Very interesting tracks this month a lot of 4s that could easily have been 5s but somehow I had to give that extra bit to things that won me over for various reasons.

Out of my 3s, some are to people that I generally admire their work (apologies in advance) because I expected a bit more from them from a round that lets you pick your favorite synth.

Good luck to everyone!

It's so interesting to hear such opinions! Makes you think... In recent decades, progress has really gained serious momentum and in one generation we can feel huge changes. I have not encountered such a technique and I think that if I ever had to work with any hardware recording devices from the last century, I would appreciate my PCs, DAW and plugins much more! And now it's just what I have to make music, so I'm even a little jealous of you)

That's about the time I started on a Phillips 'portable' mono recorder. I managed a form of overdubbing by putting a piece of selotaped cardboard over the erase head. It sort-of worked... sometimes

P.S. I was 11
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

Put myself on the same boat, overdubbing on cassette, what funny mess it was!

silverpants wrote: Tue Feb 15, 2022 6:31 pm @immanencer - I definitely think you should vote. You have as much right as everyone else. And in a round with 40 different synths - you can't know them all. Just vote on what you like. Don't take it too seriously. This is all just fun yeah? I really hope you change your mind.
I really started to vote completely inconsistent at some point in the past. I listen to what the track does to my train of thoughts or how I feel when listening ... You can get a 5 for perfect mix, for puzzling/confusing me, or when I get goose bumps ... I just decide from my gut feeling in that moment of listening. So I hope your comment @silverpants helps @immanencer to avoid analysis paralysis...

When the results are announced, where are they placed?

On top of that some I gave 4 are 5 and some I gave 5 are 4…

Hold on, we will recheck the scores.
Anyone else see problems?

Just to be sure - are you reading the results the right way around ?- the votes run from left to right, the song submissions are in the columns.
