I know that I'll end up buying a couple of the MT kits, since I can't make up my mind on the freebie at all.

Sorry I only said this to zedd in a PM, I should have posted it here. Of course it goes for everybody in the GB.

Cheers,

Thank You Per... very decent of you... I'm sure i will be taking advantage of this very generous offer but am waiting for EZplayer pro to check things out and see how it's all going to work for me.. this extension will give me enough time to do that..

I had the same concerns, and in his e-mail correspondence with me Per suggested that this would not be a problem and that there will be an extension if necessary. So no need to worry about this.

It's a great deal I grabbed it because I always do 4/4 and have some material in 3/4, 7/8 and other ones. Most of the loops out there are mostly all 4/4 and a few 3/4. After only a week I've been playing with Peer's grooves using the kits in the GB, I can see my writing expanding from what I normally do. So for that I'm glad I got them plus almost all of them are IMAP which IMHO are going to set the new standards for midi mapping. After using IMAP, I don't know how you can go back to GM.

That's cool. When I first auditioned that kit, I thought "Good lord, why would anyone do something like that to a poor bass drum?" And then I thought, "Oh yeah... metal. " I really do like the kit though.

That would be cool. GM is unstoppable though. But for a high end alternative I think iMap can really be done up right... and we plan to help make that happen. Guys like Per (Odd Grooves) and Russ (Groove Monkee) supporting it really helps, Toontrack and FXPansion are going to have more iMap support in their products as well. It's been around since 1997. I've never been personally satisfied with the limited range of articulations GM offers. I want all of those hats and snare rolls and ghost notes and kicks and rolling toms to play with! Once you get into it you can really get hooked... plus imap let's you cheat and do crazy double bass drums and wild fills that would never be humanly possible. You should see the look on drummer's faces when I do that at NAMM. One time Omar Hakim walked up to me while I was doing it and he said "Come on man!" Is that incredible? A drummer walking up to a keyboard player playing drums and shaking his head? I mean, not that he respected it in the same way he would watching a drummer but it made him smile. That's good enough for me. That and the ability to make your own drum tracks exactly the way you want them. The more you practice the more you can love having those extra performance articulations are your finger tips.

In fact, the story above happened just minutes before this shot was taken at AES in NY a year or so ago. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sonicreali ... 219304786/

Oh and while I was looking for that shot I came across this shot of Vinnie! A while back I think I told the story where I was at Ocean Way doing something in Studio C and in walks Vinnie Colaiuta and he sees the SR sign on the wall and says to me "Sonic Reality? I love Sonic Reality. I have all of their refills". Can you imagine that as the set up? HELLO VINNIE BUDDY! It's funny when musicians are fans of sounds. Growing up being fans of them to hear it back - like when Pete Townshend sent me an email saying was a fan of R.A.W. loops and Philharmonik... I guess it makes sense since these are tools they use to make music so they're passionate about them. But what a good conversation piece. Here's Vinnie http://www.flickr.com/photos/sonicreali ... 219304786/ You never know. ;)

Squids,

I got Superior Drummer 2 and they now have mapped out there drum kits for iMAP as well as the regular players... made me a happy camper!

You know that I am a huge fan of iMAP since you converted me from GM drum maps.... I can't credit you enough for thinking outside the box and giving us more artics for our MIDI drum kits. They really let you spank the kit.
