now I have a real problem...I keep getting an error message when trying to uninstall the demo...it wont unistall it, it says it was interupted before it could be completed and it won't let me install the new one...can I just delete all the files and run a clean-up?

Turn off your firewall. I had this problem during installation.

Alternatively though, I do like the fact that in Live you can select all the clips in a track in Arrangment View, right click and select "Consolidate" to convert to a single full length clip. By exporting each full-track you can then mix in Audition. This is an alternative I plan to try!
In Audition there is now an option to save all the tracks of a session in one go as individual files (with silence between the clips) to enable them to be loaded into another system.
Why when I render my tracks in multi and I set the master fader to -3db it doesn't seem to matter, and the resulting master track is at average +3 to +5db? AND when I set it lower to -9db it renders at -12db? IS it a bug?
This could be to do with the panning law - this can be set in the options dialog for new sessions, and within the stuff in Advanced Session Properties for existing sessions - there's two options, one of which has the effect of reducing everything by 3dB.
Also, in the MAster FX rack, no matter what slot you put the FX unit in, it re-assigns itself to a seemingly arbitrary slot no matter how many times you readjust it and save the config??
That's odd. I wonder whether it relates to use of a particular effect. I've not seen it happen here.

Now more users are coming along, a little reminder from me that you should be able to access the Adobe forum FAQs without needing to register there - I know some people don't like their forum. But we have tried to provide as much guidance to users (particularly upgraders) as we could on issues we could forsee coming up - eg the -3dB panning law thing mentioned above. http://tinyurl.com/dsgnn should take you there. Then come back here and discuss!

That's been quite helpful Ozpeter -- Thanks mate :)

Excellent mate! That's done it! Interesting change there however it really does better emulate a trye mixing environment. Cheers for that! :)

Indeed -- I was thinking the same thing. I have a mass of funky free and many defunct VSTi/FX coexistent with my Waves stuff, so perhaps it's just something to do with AA's enumeration of all the FX or sommat.. Whatever, as long as everything stays in the same order (for instance, L2 stays in the LAST slot) then there's no worries. I'd freak if my compressor ended up ahead of my EQ in the chain.

Needless to say though, it's all a rather academic exercise for me -- I'll be going back to version 1.5 when my demo expires next week and it'll be a long damn time before I can afford to order an English version shipped to here

So you lucky buggers shouldn't complain too much...

honestly Ozpeter, I can't think of a reason someone would not like the forum at Adobe...it certainly is a forum with a touch of class...;)
