9 months, one crash.. was a plugin, didn't even bring the system down :D
beat that with a PC [cue: BONES and his wonder machine]

[edit] I was lying, two crashes.. I had the drag window crash ones as well

I own both Logic and Cubase. I've had Logic crash many more times than twice. The 7.0 version was particularly bad for me. Maybe you just have the right combo of plugins/instruments, or maybe you just use the default stuff... dunno, because I crash logic all the time

More specifically, they didn't include the features *you* prefer or wanted to have. And more specifically *you* threw it in the bin. Or does the world revolve around you?

They didn't immediately add all the features Lord Jens considered of paramount importance.
I can see that now. Bad jens. Bad!

Can't disagree with his radiant majesty lord jens now, can I?

I bow in submission. Please forgive me your majesty! I didn't mean to! You are right, I'm wrong.

Not enough friends here that agree with your crusade, eh?

I wonder sometimes about the advocacy ongoing here @ KVR if it is a matter sometimes of keeping 'face' as it were for some decision that was publically announced.. In this case Jens being a Tracktioneer and then trying to get things implemented and not being acknowledged/ignored and jumping to another product.

TBH I have never seen so many passionate opinions about computer software as about VST hosts on KVR, and I find this fact interesting but also tiresome. For example, with Jens, perhaps he mentions eXT in every-single-thread-he-posts-in, because he feels he has to stick up for it, or he feels burned and rejected by the Tracktion developers, and has vowed to campaign against them? Is this the case? I'm only guessing because he is so passionate about it...

The reason I inquire is because I just bought T2 and really like it but I'd love to know more about the ongoing drama regarding Tracktion here on KVR to glean some insight into the evolution of the product as it is today and is going to be in the future.

Also is it more effective to post here on KVR or on the mackie forum to voice Tracktion BRs, FRs, etc?

TIA

grymmjack,

things like that are nothing to be worried about. There are simply some people who love being drama queen divas. There's also a more primal instinct at play here. People are sheep when it comes to being in groups and if something is out of norm compared to their particular flocks' preferences, see what happens?

In many ways the "preference wars" in KVR are a testimony to that.

id always advise posting at both forums if you can ... while there IS a mackie presence watching the KVR tracktion forum their devs and support staff ore more active at their own forum ... 'official' support issues can only really be addressed over there ...

... on the other hand ... MOST of the seasoned tracktion users (and a fair number of betatesters) hang out here rather than at the mackie forum so youre more likely to get good advice and knowledgeable opinions here ...

... all purely IMHO of course ...

rob, one of my concerns is making reports that are redundant. I don't want to waste anyones time (mine or most importantly the devs). I was curious more than anything. I have signed up to the mackie forum, I just prefer KVR (what is it about KVR that makes it so addictive?) over their forums.

@kingston: I'm not really /worried/ what jens thinks /now/, as clearly he's lost perspective shouting in the streets like a madman about eXT being the second-coming to every need and every person living above and below ground; that part is obvious. What I was really interested to hear is how the tracktion drama went down. I have tried to look into the KVR archives but tracking a topic like this is futile because nearly every thread strays from the original topic, and also because jens one liner posts "not eXT :)" "eXT can :)" "eXT! :D" "eXT doesn't!!! :)" ad nauseam, literally, makes researching using keyword "jens tracktion" to find relevant information on what happened completely out of the question.

and it's not just jens. searching valuable information around here is quite tedious because quite the many others like to do that, too. Witness any new plugin that has any form of copy protection in it. The thread will be drowned in whine and all relevant or useful information will be lost, and sane people will not bother to post there anymore.

now that's just a f**king lie - even when I changed from Tracktion to eXT I still helped people who've been asking questions in the Tracktion forum - when I'm propagating eXT over Tracktion this is simply because I believe your money is spent much better - again: I have a strong opinion and there's nothing wrong about that - make up your own mind after all - I don't consider others to be brainless puppets who follow my opinion without thinking about it - and it's far from being some kind of religion for me - and if you look into eXT's forum you'll find me criticizing eXT a lot (because it has its faults which need to get erased) - now check how much that IIRs idiot criticizes Tracktion - never - he's the moronic fanboy not me and his way of propagating Tracktion is what winds me up - and once again: I consider Tracktion to be a bad choice if you want to be productive and I won't get tired of saying that simply because I believe it and I know it and alternatives good enough to have founded this strong opinion on solid ground.

Oh and another thing: just because someone speaks with a
loud voice it doesn't neccessarily mean he's a fanatic - passion & fanaticism are two different things.

indeed. passion will have you speak highly of something, or have you be actively involved with anything surrounding it. Fanaticism will have you say things like "jules and mackie threw the great concept of t in the bin" blurring the truth. It will also generate the drive to preach about "the chosen one" everywhere, trying to get everyone "to see the light".

I couldn't have said it much better kingston.

But Jens, to your points, I don't fault you for being in love. Not a bit, for loving something and feeling so strongly about it how could anyone fault a person? It is the execution of public displays of affection with eXT that annoys me. Shes' your girl, we understand.

Single line jabs here and there about eXT are fine as long as it's not rubbing someones nose in something, etc. Sometimes it seems like you are trying to stir the shit with the simple one line jeering.

There is such a thing as fanatical passion too jens. ;) I think that instead of dropping the one liners bam,..bam,.. in contrary or aggresive ways (based on context of the conversation and those participating, etc), and explore the reasons eXT is good or better or whatever /in the context and scope of the original topic/, to a deeper degree it wouldn't seem offensive, obnoxious or taunting.. Indeed, I for one would consider your input valuable, instead of annoying.

And for the record, I'm personally happy for you that you have found a program that "fits" you so well, it's the endless disconnected and incessant seemingly random reaffirmation of your choice that /I/ personally find annoying at times. You can only wave your banner in someones face for so long before it becomes invasive.

Post

could you post a few links to those 'one liners' you mentioned?

(for the record: I am really upset now because my replies are usually full of information - so what you are acussing me off simply isn't true)
