Lucia : i posted a message in the Pushtec-dedicatede thread : in "no-GUI" mode, ,there is a non-effective parameter for adjusting "quality"... Could you tell us a bit more yet ?LeftoverLasagne wrote:cuz it's easier not to get lost this way, but we also included a function to bypass the steps cuz we knew not everybody would enjoy them. see the manual or the about box for a cheat sheetHovmod wrote:PushTec seems very useful, but why the freq steps?

It looked very promising, I had some serious load time issues. I actually didn't try it out because of it.stefancrs wrote:Thanks! Will add it in a future version, no doubt. Currently adressing the CPU issues.kodama wrote:Anna - Amazing synth! CPU issue and initial load time are issues. Also would love to see Aftertouch and some midi CC#'s added as sources in the mod matrix.
I'll give it another go, because it looks very promising.
I didn't even vote yet.
I tried three cheese and it has a very nice sound to it. I was going to rank it one, but I wanted to hold out and try Anna. I don't think the load time issue would preclude me from giving it a number one if when I load it, lol, it sounds as good as it looks.
There are a couple of ambient type space out plugs that I like as well. They're vey nice for when you get off work and need to relax, or if you are just about ready to fall asleep.

The load time is one of the things we are addressing, but with SynthMaker 1.0 just around the corner we have other things at the table as well. Not meaning that we won't deal with load times and cpu usage (we already are working on it), but we also have other things that needs looking at so I will probably not be able to fix this before the DC is over.talynidm wrote:It looked very promising, I had some serious load time issues. If there are any specific features you'd like to see added please let me know, I've already had several FR's that I thought were really good and that I will fulfill (global/free running LFOs, midi CC as modulation matrix sources, CC map for most controls, those are the ones I can remember from the top of my head) and if you have anything you'd really like to see in Anna, just let me know. I might not want to add it, but if I like it, I will do (I most likely won't add the ability to draw waveforms, since I find it far from as useful as the current osc "shaping").
Cheers!
edit: pff, I started a feature request thread over in the instruments section, so please post your FR's there if you've got any. http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=155592

I had big trouble deciding.. in the end I voted based on usefulness to myself and used stability as a big factor.. some are really nice except they're crashhappy on my system, so I had to pick the stable plugins over them.
Though I found all entries quite creative and interesting. I wish I could pick more than 5..

Maybe an idea for a next contest,.be able to give every entry a rating. Then in the end you see which plugins got the highest ratings, and reward those.
I think everybody wanted to pick more then 5 hehe,.

----If only 3 can win the big (money) prizes, then getting to vote for 5, actually helps 2 extra devs stay in the game points-wise. At least that's how my feeble mathematic brain explained it to me ha-ha.VitaminD wrote:Though I found all entries quite creative and interesting. I wish I could pick more than 5..

I like the "change your votes" thing. I think I will. I don't have that much time to play with these things, so not all get the scrutiny they deserve.

I don't have much experience with synths, effects and plugins - but I'm getting there. My thoughts so far:
Ritual, like other Tweakbench plugins I've tried, works seamlessly. A very polished and clever plugin that doesn't take over my computer screen. Only my lack of talent prevents it from sounding good.
As for Anna, I almost felt guilty when I opened it. All this for free? It looked and sounded superb but then the CPU use soared and it froze my computer completely. I had to switch off my PC at the mains. Perhaps it should be called a plugout instead?
Anna will be a pleasure to use once the CPU spikes are ironed out. Will it be possible to shrink the GUI a little? Thanks go to Stefan for a superb resource.
Silly question: how do I open a rar file? I'm looking forward to trying all of the plugins. Kudos to all involved.

It froze your computer completely? Ouch. What computer spec and what host? Any ideas for how you'd like a smaller GUI to be laid out? I'm not really a fan of paged/tabbed stuff, but I had to use it for the LFO and envelope sections anywayHitch wrote:As for Anna, I almost felt guilty when I opened it. All this for free? Thank you for the .rar links.
Stefan, my host is Samplitude V8 SE, which was a freebie from Computer Music magazine. My computer specs:
*looks at stickers on front of computer*
eMachines 330, 1.0 GHz Intel Celeron processor, 128 MB sync DRAM, 20GB hard drive. All that and I don't have broadband either.
Yup, I know I'm lucky to get anything working with that setup. So don't feel too bad that your nice synth didn't like my PC.
Please don't worry too much about rescaling the GUI. I'd much prefer it to remain the same size than have to deal with lots of drop-down menus and the like. And I like the colurs you've chosen. Too many interfaces favour dark colours and shading instead of controls and text that is easy to understand.
To digress, I must say that the cut-down version of Samp 8 (with NO time or recording restrictions) is absolutely fantastic. It sounds great, the functions are amazing for a giveaway program (object editing is
) and I'm making music, something I've never done before. I'm a newbie to computer music - if there are other newbies out there looking for a starter host then check out the MAGIX website.
EDIT: I've just checked the Samp/MAGIX website and I think the free download of V8 SE, if it ever existed, is no longer available. Sorry, folks. But I still think it's a nice program - and I wish there was more stuff about it at KVR because the Samp Help file is terrible.
I've no connection to the company - it's just that Samp doesn't seem to get much publicity. It's the program that has allowed me to enjoy making music.
Sorry about the rambling.
Now, back to those plugins...
