How do you use this thing as a plugin? I can't find any .dll file that I could convert using my VST-RTAS adapter. Any help would be appreciated!

There is a vst included. When you install, it asks for your vst folder. The .dll is called 'independance vst.dll', unsurprisingly.
I did find the installation a little bit trying; it asked for directory paths and I could not tell whether it was for my vsts, or program files.
Once I got it sorted out, I must say there is a fabulous sounding bass in the package - it will be my go-to instrument for electric bass. Haven't spent much time on the rest of the sounds, but the bass is a beautiful instrument, it actually feels playable rather than just programmable.
Thank-you, Yellow Tools.

Thank you for your advice! I already got it figured out by reinstalling and choosing the vst install path manually.epiphanius wrote:There is a vst included. When you install, it asks for your vst folder. The .dll is called 'independance vst.dll', unsurprisingly.

I have installed the independence program, but I can't get it to start up. It keeps telling me to "Please Choose Your Independence Free Basic Path!" What folder do I need to click on to get this to go through? It isn't accepting any of the ones I am choosing.

I think its the "images" folder in the independence program directory (thats were you should have put the content files)

All the files are there - I guess I'm just too dense to figure out how to switch presets - doh!bduffy wrote:Yeah, just place those .ytif files in ...Program Files\Yellow Tools\yellow tools Independence Free 2.0\Independence Free Basic Path\image files

I get the same thing - how do I get the presets to load?Lagrange wrote:What the shit?? I installed this but none of the libraries will load. I get this.
So then I figured I may have messed something up when I installed it (I put a foldername in the box: Program Files\*INDEPENDENCE 2. *). So I went to uninstall or reinstall it. Low and behold
THERE IS NO UNINSTALL FOR THIS THING IN THE PROGRAM(S) FOLDER OR IN ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS![]()
!!!
I really hope I dont have to hack my registry now!!

Sounds like you've sorted this monster out! Could you please be more specific. What folder contains the "sound library's files". How can I "paste them in the images in the basic path." Do you mean copy the .ytif files from the image files folder to the basics folder? Thanks for your help!keyman_sam wrote:Lagrange :
Don't panic.I got that message too. Do the following : Close independance, copy the sound library's files (should be 7 or 8 iirc) and paste them in the images in its basic path. That should fix it (and did for me).
Yeah, its a little annoying, but it works fine.
Oh, and i still dont know how the hell yall get such low dl rates. I downloaded the entire thing contents, and sample library, in 35 minutes tops. Simply use DAP with firefox. Its much faster.

Thanks Reverse Engineer - I'll try it!Reverse Engineer wrote:I tested a few things such as renaming folders, deleting the yellow tools folder in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\ and placing the vsti wherever i felt like placing it, and each time it just asks me to point to the path where the main body of files are installed, and voila, it worked perfectly fine each time (all it does is recreate the yellow tools folder and config file in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\). Nice.

There is no uninstaller because NO FILES ARE WRITTEN TO THE REGISTRY.
If you don't want to keep it, then all you have to do is delete the folder... that's it... there will be no remnants left!!!
