Some more questions...
What is Fat Tuning?
I am not seeing the dual multimode distortion/waveshaper on the gui. Where is it?
From what I am seeing, it looks like each layer can have a single effect so it is not possible to put say a chorus and a delay on a layer. Is this so? Or am I missing something?
Looks like up top there is a global eq (lo, mid, high) and above that is an edit button, what does that do?
On the settings LCD, the is a parameter that says high quality... what are the other options?

Were the designer my student or free-lancer, I'd not hesitate to ask "what are these?", or "what were you trying to do here?"... but not seeing ANY other reason for these "blobs/reflections", I will stick with my observations.
Note the "blobs" in the LCDs in the filter section alone... the top blob in the lower LCD has a "hint" of handle at its lower-right point.
Indeed... I'm not responsible for the graphic designers over-zealousness in mis-placing elements.pdxindy wrote:The blobs don't even look vaguely like knob reflections and are the wrong size and location...

My first comment about the GUI to Tone2 was that it looked temp and I knew they could do better. *shrug* I think its pretty, but the fonts are difficult to read, and I think the "glow" has actually gotten stronger since I first saw it. I personally don't think its unusable (I'm sure I'll be using it a lot without a problem), just that there's room for improvement. You can see the handle reflection just to the left of the arpeggiator lcd... the lcd surface must have some bizarre bump map set at like 400% to distort the surface enough to create the out of place reflections. No synth is perfect though (except OnePingOnly, of course).
Aye, no reason there couldn't be a minimal UI in the pack imho. Or maybe a Limeflavour skin (to which I'm partial and biased to).pdxindy wrote:Maybe Tone2 could consider making another skin that is clean, simple, legible for those who just want maximum usability.

Maybe some of the graphic designers who have made comments about the two available GUI's could make a mock up and send it to Tone 2 and if accepted could make a new alternative GUI in exchange for a license? Not being sarcastic I'm serious. That's probably the only way there will be any change.
I could work with the white version judging by the screenshot but I agree there is much room for improvement............

Rob as you are aware I am sure, an audio demo can create a bad first impression that damages a product even before it is released. I am sure they are taken their time to produce several high quality demos, hopefully in different genres.
Although at the end of the day, some will still like it, love it,dislike it, hate it.
