Yes, He's very good at not answering questions. :)

And thanks for another useless (pay for) update...
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

Seems to be the opposite of Lennar Digital for instance. Once you buy a license of Sylenth1, you get all minor and major updates for free.

Post

Every vendor has its own upgrade policy of course. Would you guys pay for Discovery Pro free lifetime updates with online activation?

Post

The official price of DP is similar to Sylenth1's. And it is not even as good in my view. So, the lifetime updates might as well be included in your price as well.
Then again, do you ever sell anything at the regular price? You always seem to have sales or you offer 3 coupons for this and that in the market place, which probably cover all your sales, anyway. So, it is hard to tell how much your stuff is actually worth in my view...

Just read his last comment here.. priceless..

I have to say I was really pissed with George because of his decision ot ask for a payment to "upgrade" Discovery Pro 6.4 to 6.5 and onwards.

But he got my respect by taking over OB-Xd (I know that this will carry people over to his site, but so would it to other developers, and the true is that since Filatov Vadim gave up, basically noone took it). So, I kind of forgave him for that unfortunate decision.

Let's see what the future bring in (if at least Bliss looked better... but that GUi is totally uninspiring).

Well I agree about version numbering in the latest Discovery Pro releases were not the best ideas, but thanks for all the comments, will think about it and I hope I can sort something out better in the future. Personally I'm not in favor of free lifetime updates unless the sales volume is very high.

Which in turn depends on your product ;)

DP doesn't even have a chorus, right?

It has a Juno modeled chorus coded by Antti from Smartelectronix.

Post

Ah, ok. I didn't see a Chorus tab where it says Delay...

Post

Phaser and chorus.

I really really like DiscoDSP plugs. IMO there are just too few of them and tbh, they're bit oldish so I'm not suprised that people don't talk about them too much. And by "oldish" I mean that they look old and aren't sexy like Tone2 stuff or Serum or..
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Except the flagship ofc. It's sexy :tu:

Hm. D Pro is now 74,50€ and upgrade from discovery to discovery pro is 75€
Well.. Maybe someday I need it that much. For now I'll manage with discovery :)

Ah, over there. I thought the effects section was on the right side where the delay is...
And it is only is on/off? No controls? Also with keytracking, velocity etc. Seems like it is a bit limited in some respect, compared to other, recent plugins.

That is because their 50% off of everything doesn't include upgrades. That's their way to show loyal customers their gratefulness.

I had a good laugh the last time when George raised the upgrade price for Discovery Pro just before he included it to the sale as well. It was practically pricier then before.

So yes, maybe it's better not to do sales on the upgrade for his customers.
