This thread really died in the last week or so. Anyone else still working on presets? I noticed that there aren't many plate presets(maybe everyone is working on them but aren't talking about it). Anyone one making them?
What type of presets do people want? Lexiconish modulated halls, realistic rooms, plates?

I think realistic rooms is missing. I find the active preset Room to be too big. It's sounds like a very big (real) room/hall. I'm getting better results by setting the length below 500 ms, lowering ER decay and length and turning down predelay.
So something more tight and not that big.

Nothing specific. Just whatever I run into.
Here is a couple of presets based on the same algorithms.
1. Random Hall Short Brite from earlier but some fixes.
2. Film Orchestra. This is specifically for Symphony Orchestra emulations.

I've submitted a preset called "Live Room". The example below does have predelay but can be set to sound tighter if needed. I am not sure about the long space one as I would really need different material to hear what it does.
I think we all have a problem with our presets.
We think they are sounding good. Then we think they sound like shit.
We all need feedback from other people otherwise we get very confused.
I do not mind posting my presets hear but I want people to try them. I don't want to fool myself thinking they are good or bad.
We all picked reverbs in the past because we liked a preset. If a reverb had great presets we all used it.
I am completely flying blind here. I just don't know if what I am doing is any good.
There is an old saying when you are playing back your mix and judging how it sounds. It depends on who is in the room.

My Final presets wont have the ER presets so keep one of my current presets.

Hey Spencer I have listened to your presets.
From what I hear they have too much going on in the sides and the stereo image is separated. They are also set to fully wet. Did you have a look at the document Vojtech sent today?

Yes they are meant to be used on a send. Hence Fully wet.
I did read Vojtech's document today and at this stage I don't fully understand it.
I would really like to hear what those presets sound like on music.
If I put them on a mix I am doing I will not hear the overall sound.
Psychology will take over.

I stopped doing the active preset thing. I'll be making some crazy ones with MXXX when this guy gets released. Not enough modulators to do the kinds of oddness I want in the standalone. At least not enough to have the requisite amount of variation in a single active preset. I have made lots for my own use for the time being.
As far as plates go you'll want to eliminate anything that contributes to a gradual buildup of reflections. The trick seems to me to band limit the signal with high and low pass filters on its way into a simple little parallel nested all pass network. Slap some more dampening into the feedback loop and you get a pretty good plate sound. I use like 6 nested all passes in a weighted parallel configuration in my plate type setup. Slap some delays in those feedback loops and you can get into springy territory pretty quick. Either way it's nice and smooth with zero attack and a good vintage sound.
The realistic room stuff I've done has relied heavily on having the early reflections configured properly. Most of the room sound is in the early part. Then you just turn that down super low and build a versatile little tail algorithm and you are all set. The biggest hurdle was that when I though I had reduced the level of the early reflections enough. I usually was still about two times louder than what would be realistic. If you have a program like altiverb you can do some studying of some of the amazing rooms they've captured and examine them one component at a time on a handy cascade graph.

Your "live room" is very nice, natural sounding room, I like it!
"Planets" is good, but final impression depends on sound, arrangement etc.
