I. Lehti wrote:Hi, I1 was just playing with Kit 13 OWD from this Group Buy and I'm wondering how come the snare has like random velocities and goes up and down in pitch with each hit. I am new to the intricasies of the controls for it in Kontakt 3.5 but whatever I try to do I keep getting the same behaviour from the snare, like it is 3 different velocities changing with each hit and then the pitch is changing at the same time. I have the OWD DL with Kit 13 and the snare doesn't behave like that in that kit. Thanks.
These posts should be made in the community support thread. But anyway, in the velocity panel of the snare instrument look to see if there's velocity to pitch. If there is that was to taste as these weren't designed to be exactly like the previous but were custom made for this group buy (this is not some official update to the original). You can turn it to 0 if you don't like it.

If that's not it then I'll take a look when I get a chance and make sure it isn't a mapping issue. I did notice a few when doing the global patch update. THOUSANDS of samples were moved around to be able to do this bundle custom made. Human error is possible too. But we'll fix anything that is found that is unintentional.

infer about OWD and eSoundz, if anything?

Does "exclusive distribution" mean eSoundz is no longer a source?
It is more or less the same for you guys because we're still a "dealer" for it on esoundz and we're still the guys who program it for them. But we're no longer the "middle man" to other stores. Stores and other international distributors buy it from ILIO. It may mean our prices will have to go up for Ocean Way Drums soon - that is the only thing it may affect so... buy now while you can get such a good deal!

More explanation of all that:

eSoundz itself was never a distributor. It doesn't supply other stores it IS a store - an outlet mainly for SR stuff since no other dealer carries ALL of our stuff like that and for download. DownloadableSoundz.com is like a distribution outlet though since dealers CAN sell downloads right from that site using redeem codes... that is why there even IS a second site otherwise that would all be one site (if anyone wondered).

Sonic Reality is mainly a sound developer and the only reason we distribute ANYTHING is because it is hard to find a really good distributor here in the US and if you want something done right sometimes you've gotta do it yourself. I'd actually prefer to have EVERYTHING we do distributed by someone amazing and passionate about our own product range like we are... and can handle ALL of it (because it is a lot from RAW loops to Refills to Kontakt/Infinite Player stuff to now BFD2 kits with Peart and more). So, anyway, I am not holding my breath or even looking for that. We ARE at NAMM to establish some new international distributors though.

ILIO on the other hand IS a distributor. In fact they still distribute our classic SR libraries for samplers. They're in LA where Ocean Way is and have an established flow with International distributors since they've been around for so long. So with OWD not being nearly as diverse a product line and being prestigeous as well it fit in with ILIO. We're still the co-producers of that product but just not involved in that part of it.

However, pretty soon as a retailer esoundz has to buy OWD from ILIO just like any other retailer! It will be at whatever THEIR dealer cost is so... believe me when I say a deal like THIS one is limited time that is exactly what I am talking about. I just couldn't say officially until now when the news was out. So, my pals at Ocean Way did us a solid and let us have this one time BLOW OUT EXTRAVAGANZA or whatever you want to call it and we had to rise to the occassion and pull this together fast. We busted our butts to make this happen FAST for you guys. Worked double shifts, gave up vacations and nearly worked ourselves sick. We're still working to perfect it for minor issues out of thousands of possible samples and parameters that are just right and that itself is a feat given how little time we had to take advantage of the window of opportunity ourselves.

I don't mind telling you guys the skinny. It backs up what I say when it would otherwise appear that I am just putting on the usual "sales pressure". Like "Buy NOW!". Sure we do that like any other store does. But sometimes... sometimes there's a man... he fits right in there and I'm talking about the Dude. I'm not saying he's a hero because what's a hero? But sometimes there's a man... sometimes... sorry I lost my train of thought! Oh yeah, sometimes there are concrete reasons why something cannot be done except temporarily in a special offer. Now you can see why this was one of them.

How about that explanation for the morning of the first day of NAMM at 6am? Good thing I type fast... I have a bunch of things I have to do. You guys might want to check www.sonicreality.com today and clear your cache to see the latest banners... those will link to new product information and demos... including Neil Peart Drums Vol. 1! ;)

Will the current prices for OWD Gold on esoundz last through the life of the discount coupons from this group buy (feb-ish)?

I also love the Hybrid kits... they are the product of genius.
Still deciding on my optional kits/EZplayer - how much midi comes with EZPPro?

Not enough to be a deal breaker. Maybe 1000 or less. Great midi grooves though :)

When this group buy was announced I thought to myself; count me out guys! I cannot afford it right now and I also thought I was not a drummer to require tonnes of drum sounds. How wrong I was?
But now, am I glad I jumped in; I absolutely love the kits and the EZ player pro is funtastic too.

Thank you Squids and everyone at Esoundz; you make fans out of your clients.
I am sorry you guys had to forego your vacation for this
If there are any guys still undecided; jump in! I can assure you won't regret it.

Probably but your best bet is to buy it when you see the price is what you want it to be. The regular prices can change any day. The coupon will work until it expires though. So for anyone who bought this group buy you're safe to get the deal offered in the VITAL INFO thread - as long as it is before the cutoff which is in that thread. We're going to extend the cutoff for Drum Masters 2 and EpiK though, not sure about OWD yet. So better to buy it now.

FTR I don't ask for any sympathy (maybe just understanding and patience is all) for some of us missing our vacations. That's just business. Holidays are a strange time because it would appear to be a good time to go on vacation but it is one of the best times of the year for business. People have holiday money and want to treat themselves to what they REALLY want (as opposed to a skinny tie). I am sure a lot of people have to weigh that up wherever they work. Balance is the key. I did enough family fun to keep myself out of trouble. But we HAD to do this for you and for us.

It's funny, for all the time put into this plus all the royalties we pay out we barely break even... after all that! The whole point of this was to create some good will, reach new customers and get you all into the Infinite Player. Now that you have it our business is all about selling Infinite Player content - we have TERABYTES of it - the SAMPLE EVERYTHING choice of A to Z you name it. For Drums there's MORE where this came from. So now you have a taste and we're hoping that people will upgrade to the full Drum Masters 2 Multitrack or STm Signatur titles, EpiK DrumS or buy OWD from our shop using those coupons while you still can.

So far that has been working out though so... risk reward. I'm a risk taker. But, one has to be wiling to look like a Shmo though... I don't love looking like that to be honest but to be so quick and spontaneous, honest and forthright you just have to take the good and the bad, the "nailed it" and the "woops" and admit the mistakes and just correct them as best you can. But in the end when the dust settles a group buy with a customized product with this much stuff and interaction with customers is like nothing else. A different kind of value proposition all together. Maybe unorthodox but if you think about it there are some really great benefits to it all and I am sure a lot of you have. (like the coupons making this free several times over and things like that on top of the exceptional value you got in the first place)

Hi Squids, I just purchased the Danny Gotlieb Multitrack from esoundz. As I couldn't find anything about cupon codes I just paid what was written there. For further purchases, where are the group buy coupons and where can I get them?
Thank's - SC

Ok... I'm ready to jump in :)

Couple off questions and I'm sure they have been answered some where in this novel of a thread :)

1. I already have the IP but I'd like to use this at my studio and home. How many AUTHORIZATIONS am I allowed?

2. The kits with the same names (MT and KITS) are the same except one is a Multitrack version vs just a kit?

3. By Choosing EZplayer does it offer an upgrade path to the EZDRUMMER LINE?

Thanks :)

IP is Authorized through NI's Service Center, so I reckon that 2 current Authorizations are allowed, as for most other NI software.

Not quite. There are STm and Mt kits.
"STm" kits are stereo kit pieces but the kits are multichannel - just without discrete mics per kit piece.

MT Kits are multitrack kits with several mics per kit piece

I don't know of any from EZplayer pro.
