Thanks Oliver,
i just tried the PM feature for the first time and i'm not 100% sure if it worked.
just to be safe, here's a link to a patch that illustrates what i mean...
https://www.dropbox.com/s/d1s3io26kkax0 ... .uvip?dl=0
if i understand it correctly, then hitting C4 should simultaneously trigger the keygroup on C2 because both keygroups are linked to LFO 1 which is at layer level.
(the analog envelope for the keygroup on C2 is being triggered by LFO 1)
thank you for all your help, i really appreciate it. Falcon is GREAT!!
Cheers and have a nice weekend!

thanks Simon, yes i'm aware of that.Sampleconstruct wrote:You can rename Mappers and LFOs and other modulators, it's not what you're asking for but it helps to keep an overview.
being able to rename stuff certainly helps...

@the3ug3reeder checked your patch. It's normal it's not working. Voices are only triggered when you trigger the keygroup by playing the actual note.
Your use case would work only if the C2 was already playing.
Otherwise it would means that all voices are always running but are muted and it would be a big hit on the CPU.
If you want to have one single note trigger multiple not stacked keygroups, check out the script feature.
Hope this clarify things.

I have problem with Thor chorus and maybe FM module.
I created patch with Two Layers, one Analog module and one FM with Thor Chorus and Delay. When I change output (for this patch in Falcon UI), then Thor is deactivated and FM sounds like something turn volume up. Turn off and on Thor does not help bring Thor fx back. I must reload patch or reload project.
I am on Win7 64bit and Reaper 5.201

I'm bringing back this old post to ask questions. I couldn't find any details on these in the manual. What would each of these be useful for?otristan wrote:Thanks Simon
To be more pedantic:
Key is linear on the whole MIDI range
Key follow is a curved centered version
Linear key follow is a linear centered version
For filter follow use the linear Key follow with a ratio of 0.5 (0.502 for really perfect matching)
What's the difference between "Key" and "Linear key follow"? Does "linear centered" mean is basically bipolar from C4? And "Key" is basically unipolar?
If "Key follow" is curve centered, what curve is it following?
Thanks!

@Oberheim 8000: a preset would help understanding what is happening
@jacobh
Key is absolute and unipolar while Key follow is C4 centered, hence negative on the left of C4 and positive on the right.
Linear just means that there is no curve while standard keyfollow is parabolic curved
If you want a different curve, use linear key follow and apply a mapper on the connection.

I think you can replicate it. But Ok i Upload the patch. When you load it, or create patch yourself, it play ok, but try change main output and bring output back (to main output) and you can hear the difference. It sounds like Width control on thorus is set to minimum, what produce the louder sound. The way fix the patch is reload it or delete thorusFX and create new.

Hm, not too impressed with Spectre. Dance sounds. Heard those since ages, kind of superfluous. Falcon is able to do much wilder, weirder stuff. The Analog Motions set is more interesting to me. Sure, analog sounds have been done as well since ages and I'm kind of filled up to the brim with them .... there's only so much you can do and I'm not sure we need a 5000th moog clone. But the AM lib contains something different, with nice sequences and arpeggios etc. I look forward to more interesting pads etc. I find very long sounds, that develop interesting characteristics and display a wild array of controllable nuances much more interesting - and falcon is good at that.
If it has to be standard analog, I strangely miss the OOMPH in many falcon sound designs heard so far. I'm a noob and can't very well describe what I mean. But if I listen to synths like Dune 2 etc, they have very punchy, extremely present sounds. Most similars I heard on Falcon kind of enter the scene too softly ... they lack the kick or whatever it is compared to some other VSTs I heard.
And I like new ideas .... have you seen Wiggle? Where the curves can wobble around weirdly within the intervals you specify with your curve shaping points etc? That's the things I'd like to see incorporated into Falcon more. A bit more weirdness compared to the standard workstation synth.

Hoping for expansions that are not focused on dance, EDM, house, techno, dubstep, etc. I would really like to see some Falcon-specific expansions with significant sample content.

Check out Simon Stockhausen's packs for non dancey stuff with significant sample content: http://www.patchpool.de/machfive.htmlanxiousmofo wrote:Hoping for expansions that are not focused on dance, EDM, house, techno, dubstep, etc. I would really like to see some Falcon-specific expansions with significant sample content.

Thanks for the referral, but I've been a good customer of Simon's for a while now. I would make the same recommendation, though.mcbpete wrote:Check out Simon Stockhausen's packs for non dancey stuff with significant sample content: http://www.patchpool.de/machfive.htmlanxiousmofo wrote:Hoping for expansions that are not focused on dance, EDM, house, techno, dubstep, etc. I would really like to see some Falcon-specific expansions with significant sample content.
