Great stuff Ian, Tim, Odo, vurt, System20 and anyone else in, on, or beside Cygnus.
I personally liked the 'star gazer' skin in appearance - but can imagine tweeking a sound would be rather difficult. Odo's skin is certainly functional, but loses the whole 'mystique' all together. It would be cool if it could 'toggle' the skins - IE; have the stars, but if you click one, it brings up the particular LFO, ADSR, HRM, etc. Or just click the bottom right most star, and get the full Odo display.
That'd be kind've a bitch to do I guess? But wouldn't it be cool!

I know I should not complain when something is free, and believe me I am NOT complaining, just "bug reporting". I love Cygnus, and I think I will like it even more with the other skin. And being a programmer (non-music) who takes pride in what I do (like you guys obviously do), I'm feel sure you probably want to get bug reports (And perhaps this is a known bug or I'm being stupid, either is possible).
Anyway, Cygnus is crashing Sonar 5 PE when I instantiate two of them. Actually, I instantiate one and record a track, then I instantiate another, and when I record about my 5th note on the 2nd track...KABOOM. It's a pretty graceful exit, as Sonar goes...don't have to reboot or anything, and I get the following information (this is after you click the "details" on the "Sonar has encountered an error and must close" screen):

If it can be fixed, great. If not, no hard feelings
BTW: I cannot use Cygnus at all in Sonar 4 PE, when it loads there are some awful cracking noises and the CPU pegs, and the synth won't play.
BTW2: This is ALL using the Cakewalk VST wrapper v4.5 that comes with Sonar 5. When I try the same test with DirectiXer with either Sonar, the crackling noise syndrome happens.[/img]

No, not really.system20 wrote:...take that same exact dish
add some garnish..
and it'll taste even better.
I think the same concept
To make your metaphor work, you'd have to put the garnish on the dish while the chef was preparing the meal . . . and then take it away just before serving it. It might look more appetizing to the chef but the actual consumers don't see it.
Now, which one tastes/sounds better?

Hey will the Odo skinned one still have the option to turn off the labels?? Sorta overlooked this, but it would be excellent if it did!

Nope, sorry but this version is designed to be pseudo-hardware..Andrew Vernon wrote:Hey will the Odo skinned one still have the option to turn off the labels?? Sorta overlooked this, but it would be excellent if it did!

What 8 synths did you use or are you saying you used 8 instances of Cygnus?
By the way, this thread is closing in on 20,000 views. Is that a record?
