So I saved the files as .FLV so I don't have to download them again and again and again. Currently I'm using VLC Media Player, but I'd like to view with Media Player Classic v6.4.9.0. I also installed the XP Codec Pack 1.3.4 but MPC still fails to find the codec. Most likely I did something wrong there...
Can somebody take the truouble to talk me through the moves to get MPC able to show FLV's?

MPC requires an external filter to play FLVs. Recent versions of FFDShow include this. This page shows that XP Codec Pack 1.3.4 uses FFDShow 2004.10.12 which (IIRC) doesn't include the FLV filter. Install a more recent version of FFDShow from this page.BertKoor wrote:Can somebody take the truouble to talk me through the moves to get MPC able to show FLV's?
Once installed open up FFDShow's video decoder configuration. Under Codecs check that the FLV1 format is set to use the libavcodec decoder. Then in MPC (latest is 6.4.9.0) go to Options -> Player -> Formats and be sure that "Flash Video file" is set to use DirectShow.

I copy them from the browser cache. They are the large files changed most recently.stale bread wrote:is there a way to save the you tube videos?, i'm on a pc
Internet Explorer: C:\Documents and Settings\[you]\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5, in one of the randomly named subfolders.
FireFox: C:\Documents and Settings\[you]\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[random].default\Cache.
With FireFox you have to rename the files and give them the FLV extension.
