Bevoss wrote:Hey Simone, I have a question:

What other amp models will be included in time? Any boutique ones in the works?

And also a suggestion, the Darkface model is great, but could use a drive control...Gearbox has one on it's Lux model, it's very useful for getting the right grit level.

I'm still very impressed btw...
Question: I won't reveal these future plans here... it'll be a surprise... also... the evil enemies are always listening :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

Darkface: I use other solutions to get the right grit (see the other post above here)... we want to keep the models faithful to the originals... of course we could consider adding custom models with 'extra' gain stages... Overloud boutique models...

Click to change the bank from factory to user or vice-versa doesn't change the name displayed unless you change the bank number with the arrows to the left and right.
In other words, let us say you are in bank 04 factory and you click to change it to bank 04 user, it doesn't show you you are in user banks until you move to 05 or 03..

Damn!
What OS/host/version are you on?
I am on Mac and tested all versions now and they work fine here... successfully switching from user to factory and viceversa and showing the right label (user/factory)
Please answer via PM or to my email (scoen@ the TH1, very loud company name .com)

WARNING:

I installed the 1.0.1 update, and it told me my system clock was wrong, before the release date. How, I don't know...this is a daw only machine, I never check or use the date for anything, but it was a week early somehow.

Anyway I corrected this, then the demo told me I had only 4 days left instead of 11...I thought what a ripoff, I've only just got started with it. So I returned the date to the previous one...BAD MOVE.

Now it said 'your trial is ended'...aaargh! So I think, I'll clean my system and reinstall it (you can tell I know nothing about PACE at this point).

After trying to remove PACE from my system for hours, reading countless pages about other users problems too, and talking with techheads, I conclude the only sure way to remove this insidious, intrusive shit is to restore your system to a pre-PACE ghost point...which unfortunately for me is a while back.

So to conclude, my demo ended abruptly, I feel ripped off, and I'm left with a virus-like program on my computer, which to remove requires restoring an image and then anything I've installed since (like Reaper, nebula updates, etc).

So my warning is: ghost an image immediately before installing TH-1, or you may not be able to remove this PACE crap later.

No wonder so many people hate this PACE shit. f**k them, and f**k Overloud for using it. I will not touch this with a bargepole now.

I am sorry regarding the PACE shit as you call it... I am trying to have these guys build an uninstaller for it on PC as we have it on Macs...

Please get in touch with me via email or PM if you want us to reset your demo time: what happened to you, happens with any time-restricted demo software. They realize if you change the system clock too often and take this as you trying to fool the 'dating' system...

Thanks for the f**k... I'll try to have one tonight

Best,

Yeah, I wouldn't say this is a PACE problem really. Of course, I don't know how the clock got changed in the first place. I've done it by accident in the past. I don't really know if it's even possible for a program to change it just by installing, is it?

Regardless, I think you will likely be able to solve this. I know I've never had a problem with anything PACE related, although some people have. But maybe give it another shot with a reset demo period?

Probably not the best idea to publicly belittle potential user's/buyer's complaints regarding this issue. It's not new, and it's a valid complaint. I can understand bevoss' need to vent, considering just how long it typically takes to get one's OS configured the way they like it.

Post

I can say that the InterLok driver doesn't seem to do any harm under OSX.
On the other hand, I had quite some different experiences under Windows, one of the reasons I stopped using any PACE protected software (I even signed off some beta tests because of it). But then, that's quite a while ago, so I thought those problems would've been fixed under either platform.

I had replyed with a long post but my Mac battery died in the meantime...

Anyway.
I don't feel there's any 'belittle' in my post.
I am kindly answering his rightful cry for 'help' doing what I can.
In the end, since it's not nice to be f****d (not at least for me) I am putting things ironically.

I was belittle-ing (how do I write this?) if I had written that senctence from the start without trying to help in any way.
My 2 cents.

Then other things:
- Bevoss is grown up so he can take his own defense I guess.
- I TOTALLY agree that there should be a way to completely remove PACE if you wish to do so.
- I don't see any support request made on our website form by anyone regarding this issue in the last hours (or days for that matter): so, if someone needs help, maybe this help has to be looked for at the source of the problem, not crying out in forums (and I totally agree with crying out once problems are NOT cleared out by the company quickly) where all you can do is destroy your Windows installation or just feel happy about ranting a company or a protection scheme wihout actually solving any problem, nor making us aware of the problem (I am not asked by contract to read this thread, I do so because It's my choice).
- as stated on another forum recently: I really doubt anyone would buy a car with some problems and go in the streets yelling and crying about this... not at least before he goes to the car store and tries to ge the car fixed or exchanged.
Now, since we (Overloud) are not trying to F**K anyone (it's not really our company mission) and we using protection to save us from people F**K us, simply that word cannot be used with us.
This said, again, I TOTALLY AGREE THAT THERE SHOULD BE AN EASY WAY TO GET RID OF PACE.
PACE???? are you listening?????
Pace? ace-ace-ace-ace-ace-ace-ace......

I will personally kick their asses!

you should really think of alternate protection.
overloud knows that there's no easy way to get rid of pace, so i wouldn't sell a car where it's color bleeds the customers expensive armanicoat.

have you looked at u-he's protectionsuggestions. he had build-in timebombs so any crack that seems to work stops working after a while (not looking at systemclock but on things like: how often was i started, how many samples have i produced, how often has the user switched presets....). really hard to figure out and you'll have advertising thru the dark channels software and when the illegal user has really got used to th-1 and used it in some of his songs that damn thing stops working. now what do you think he might consider...

such lame guy like the pacepeople shouldn't profit in any way from your success.

I agree that U-He's copy protection seems to be quite great.
OTOH, I'm not experiencing any troubles with PACE, either. Plus it's giving you an option to have your authorization with you on an iLok, which could be quite an advance for some people.

No offence Simone, it wasn't directed at you or Thomas personally, just a bad company decision imo.

Other programs I use and consider groundbreaking also, are for instance:

Reaper
Nebula3
Steven Slate Drums

None of which use more than serial or challenge and response, or install anything registry related on your computer. I guess I considered Overloud in their elite league. :)

I'm not 'crying out' in another forum either, here is where I got all my info and help so far on TH-1...plus I'm sure there's others like me who have no idea what installing PACE entails. Each to their own, I prefer to have complete control over what's on my computer...my choice.

Best of luck with the TH-1, I surely won't be buying it unless PACE is removed, which obviously is not on the cards.

Peace
Bevoss

that's funny, dude. i might drop my protest against pace and buy th1 just because you said that.

seriously, if there was ever a plug to take a chance on regarding pace, this thing is it. absolutely stunning software. very good job.

Won't touch it with pace here. That pooch has screwed me before.
If it has c/r as an option why do you have to have pace drivers installed with the demo? I will say this for a final statement on the matter.

ANY DEMO AFTER UNINSTALLED SHOULD LEAVE THE USERS SYSTEM AS BEFORE IT WAS INSTALLED! OTHERWISE THIS SHOULD BE SEEN AS NEGLECT/BAD FAITH/INTENSIONAL SPYWARE/VIRUS IMPLANTATION BY THE MANUFACTURER.

Thats pretty clear.

That's what companies always forget to mention  :
This C/R system is also made by PACE.
And it's no better than using an iLok imho.
Personally I never had a problem with that little piece of plastic, I've been using dongles for many years, in fact I much prefer them to C/R, but I sure won't let any PACE driver near my system.

Nothing to add. :tu:
