see you in Reaperland.

this version should be called 2.5 Years Later (ANH - And Nothing Happened).
how can you start out with XT 1.x and end up with XT 0.01?

if XT 1.4 was only Open Source and running on Linux.

nevermind. I'm not disappointed. I'm disgusted because of the amount of time I spent HOPING, WISHING & PRAYING.

I mean, who here actually had any expectation of something different from the latest beta? I know I didn't, there were no promises of what 2.5 would even be. Its just a rebranding of the evolution since 2.0, exactly what I expected.

I was hoping that he'd do something to quite the angry mob. Still.. Personally I don't care if it ever gets another update. I continue to use XT2 and don't see me switching to anything else. It works perfectly for what I do and it hasn't crashed on me in over a year.

If you really want out, please let me help. I recently bought Cakewalk Sonar Home Studio for doing stuff that XT won't do. I don't use it to record with but I could. It actually reminds me of XT2 in some ways and it's only $99 bucks.

Unlike Reaper you can release professional work without paying $225 bucks for a commercial license. In my opinion SHS7 kicks Reapers ass. For the money, it's the most complete/best sequencer that you can get right now.

I hate to see you go but I'll hold the door open if you want to leave and take your disappointment with you.

If there is a plan, I guess that could actually be it. He's never going to update XT2 to include 1.4 functions because that's not what XT2 is about but he's not going to say it out loud. He'll just wait until all the old guard has moved on. 2 years is a long time to bitch. If it was me, I'd have gotten tired of it a long time ago.

First of all, that would be a *terrible* business plan, and I don't think they'd do that.

Secondly, what do you think XT2 is about then? If not righting the wrongs of past sequencers? (eXT/Massiva)

Quite the opposite, it would be an *excellent* business plan, as the old guard aren't paying for XT2. Their FRs can be pretty much ignored.

Firstly I'm not saying that's what it is but it damn sure seems like it and secondly I don't have any more of a clue than firstly because we (some of us) bitched so much that Jorgen stopped talking to us.

Why does he even keep this forum open? I assume he has the authority to close it? It's certainly not good for his business. And he certainly isn't listening to us.

For sure SWTres, so have fun 'cause he's not worrying about a single word from his userbase, who helped him...

This man was here every day. Sometimes FRs were done in hours. He worked with his users in a way no other developer has ever worked with his users. This was the happiest place on KVR until his users turned on him.

His user base bitched about the sequencer in 1.4 until he built them a new one and called it XT2. A damn nice one too. When they got the new sequencer FREE, instead of being happy most were distressed and worried about missing features.

Jens and friends worked very hard to drive a wedge between Jorgen and the users. Their efforts are still apparent in this forum.

Completely forgetting all that had come before, rather than continue to work with the best developer ever to improve "their" new sequencer. His users acted stupid and childish, trashing his efforts, calling him names, basically wanting to dictate how things "should" proceed until he stopped talking to them.

Then they wonder why ... It's amazing!

Oh well. I kinda knew in my heart that this was going to be not much more than a version change, but I wanted to hope for something more - my fault really.

I'll just wait for the next BETA and see what that brings.

You seem to have a very strange and distorted perception of reality.

I call 'em like I see 'em. Apparently opinions about how we got here vary. Imagine that?
