To y'all it'll be nothing, but 1) I'm no guitarist, and 2) it's what my oldest friend Bony Jank has lent me: a '95 MiM Tele. Red.
We'll see whether my not-quite-oldest enemy Arthur will let me re-learn what little I knew of guitar playing. His last name is Itis.

Sorry to hear ...
But hopefully not all is lost, there are many examples of players making good music in spite of massive handicaps /injuries - Django Reinhardt, Les Paul, Tony Iommi, the list goes on.
Ever tried investigating open tunings and/or slide ?
Much deeper than meets the eye ...
My very best wishes,

This is comparatively mild; just an ache that comes and goes over time and is usually not that bad. Controllable with acetaminophen or nothing at all mostly.
No doubt it'll get worse but for now I hope I can at least give it a shot. We'll see. Tomorrow I'll give it a quick cleaning and try out advice in some articles from Guitar Player (actually a collection in a book). Hm, and maybe adjust the action and check intonation. It's been unused for a while I think.

Meffy have you tried out one of them grip things which excercise each finger/build up strength - I bought my aunt one after she had an operation on Carpel tunnel both hands/wrists and its helped her. They are aimed at guitar/bass players but work for anything hand related
If you can't find one let me know and i will dig out a link mate
All the best to you

Single, very short job, typically 3 songs ("Bastard" (Ian Hunter), "I Hate Your Guts" (Zakk Wylde) and an acapella audience version of "I Used To Love Her" (G'n'R) - done), double pay.
Think about it ...

I just got mine.. a Samick AV6 (Les paul copy) with spalted maple top. You know these Greg Bennett series samicks are very well made. So far the action on both of mine have been wonderful. (I also have the RL4 which is a decent ES335 copy)
I got both used at 50% off of new price and will use the extra to switch out the pots caps and pups. They both sound good as is but seriously with the new electronics I expect my 700 dollar guitars to sound like a 3-4 thousand dollar guitar.

The only thing a bit different is the where the top would meet the 18th fret. Still though its a sweet guitar.

The new ESP EC-1000T FCSB sells for $679 and comes with Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro's, not to mention locking tuners and a Tonepros bridge:

That is a great deal.... Nice pups and Tonepro isn't super cheap either.Uncle E wrote:The new ESP EC-1000T FCSB sells for $679 and comes with Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro's, not to mention locking tuners and a Tonepros bridge:

Might be a nice instrument, don't know, but somehow I can't take something like that seriously.Uncle E wrote:The new ESP EC-1000T FCSB sells for $679 and comes with Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro's, not to mention locking tuners and a Tonepros bridge:
Looks like another completely weird Japanese reaction to the hypocrite, protectionist US copyright legislation.
What's the sense in purposefully "dumbing down" the design of an obvious copy ?
I mean, I can either accept the Tokai philosophy of essentially giving the customer what he wants, with that tiny, almost unnoticeable dimple added on the headstock to be safe, or the Yamaha SG, SA, Ibanez Artist approach of producing "copies" that have their own dignity and identity.
Both obviously satisfy the lawyers ...
But something like this ESP just looks wrong to me.
And concerning US copyright, it seems so completely hit and miss who's allowed to do what, I mean a lawnmower is a lawnmower, as long as you don't fake the manufacturer logo, steal a technical patent or use an identical name - what's there to protect ?
Weird scenes inside the gold mine ...
