I never said anything about quality, only about price, given what I know about manufacturing in China.
Have you?
It looks like an amp I played at a China show years ago but I don't know if the Albion is exactly the same.
I'm quite interested in the concept of the two channels.
Agreed! It's a cool concept!
As for price it's right there with many of the new generation of this class of tube amps.
Jet City, Blackheart, and Bugera are cheaper. For high gain stuff, I'm a big fan of the JCA20H.
$549.00 It's there with the price of my engater or that of the price of a tiny terror.
The Egnater Tweaker and Orange Tiny Terror are killer amps. This Albion might be, too, but I didn't like the amp I played in China.
It appears to have at the very least equal features, so I guess I know what your opinion of those amps are.
No, you don't because I never gave my opinion about the amp, only about the price.
To even suggest that it is a scam (what a totally outrageous and inflammatory word to use) without even trying it, to mock it openly is absolutely out of line...you have to be kidding me, you are going to suggest that prejudging something absolutely no knowledge is warranted? And you're a music retailer?
Uncle E wrote:Well, it's not a scam
I never once called it a scam, nor am I doing so now.
I'm not going to be so pretentious and pompous that I can rule from my throne that it's probably not worth what you pay for. Sorry Eric but that is beneath both of you, give it a chance at least. I know it's a vintage this, or a super cool that but what are you going to do if one day you are selling this amp?
I don't like most amps! I don't like my Fuchs, my VHT, my Hiwatt, or my Lonestar Special! I've hated every Dr. Z I've ever played! Given how particular I am and how peculiar my taste seems to be, do I really have to be open-minded about every new amp on the block?
Do not take it personally

Bummer deal, GC's "in stock" was telling the truth!

The only one they had that I'd want to try was the egnater, and I want to be able to compare it to something

And last but not least, I tend to prefer well built, high quality gear, and like I wrote above, this does not have to be expensive, especially in the US.
For the cost of such a low end, far east mass product you can still get a real ptp Fender amp, BF or SF, with a virtual lifetime guarantee as they can always be repaired easily, some JCM800 models are in that ballpark, Eric's Anniversary did not cost much more, even Mesas
which completely makes my point...so did I pay too much for my egnater? It was the same price. You said in a pm I should look at the mesa boogie pre-amp but you didn't see what it was that I liked about the frenzel that the is not the same with the boogie (besides the price). I might not want an 800, I didn't want an 800 when I had a choice between my my plexi and an 800, I didn't want my plexi when I tried posiibly one of the least popular Mesa Boogies, I prefer the two watt Frenzel over the same model mesa boogie, and who knows what I will like better than the frenzel (until the circle with my gear starts again)...what I di know is that I will always be happy :tu:

I take extreme exception to your use of the word 'real'...that is superficial and pretentious now matter how you slice it...but I am truly happy that I do not have to carry that burden.

Face it, you know nothing about this Albion amp nor do I...but I am the one keepin an open mind.

well if that offened you I am sorry, I could have read that wrong but all I am saying is we do not know if it's worth the value and my point about the scam was not your words but susiwongs...the first thing you said to me was it was not a scam. I can read the writing on the wall

Yet attacking people's integrity isn't?

Post

To be fair,
scam was my word, and it was meant about dangers when buying s/h, period.

To also be fair,
there is only so much you can cover even in a long post  , one thing I'd like to add is that boutique / high end knowledge, experience and meticulous end control paired with cheap far east manufacturing can result in very cool gear worth your attention, take Jet City, Blackstar (definitely, my issues were of a different nature, great build quality) or a big number of high class microphones, MIC, designed and sold by US or European experts as examples.

Nope.
Real ptp Fenders meant compared to the PCB "reissues", I can't think of a more appropriate use of the word "real".
