Yes yes Dany. The last beta is even 2.56b16.dsan@mail.com wrote:BlackWinny - did you get the latest beta version?
Strange that I am using Windows Version 2.56b15 x64 and not experiencing this behavior.
Happy Musiking!

I see that Attila was already aware of the issue (if we talk well about the adding of a new line).
About the behavior concerning the (dis)appearance of joined notes, I don't know if Attila has seen the problem.

Yes, that was strange behavior indeed! I noticed though in your example you went from a C chord to a G chord. The C from the C chord should not have been able to "join" the G chord since the G chord does not contain a C note.
Strange indeed.
I will bet Attila has noticed the post - it may not seem like it sometimes but he does.
He usually gets to things eventually. He is just so very busy and has to prioritize his time.
Still, good that you revisted the issue just in case.

Hi Attila,
i am using w7 x64 RC x64
do i care that much ?
No, it seems harmless to me.
about the Join note variation
i can confirm that
it works if variation in the track but fails if in the phrase.
BTW.i didn't tested with latest
2.56b17 yet.

That's curious, it's been several beta versions of which I don't receive anymore the RSS feed for the beta versions. The last one that I received was the 2.56b12 at 20/02. I've just checked, nothing has changed in my configuration, though all my RSS readers (the native reader in Thunderbird and the famous Sage in Firefox) all say the same thing : URL not available.

Yes, this will be fixed shortly. I think I know what is happening. Due to the 'join' operation the phrase under 'G' has lost its lowest note. During rendering, the previous phrase should be checked too if it has a long note that extends out of the the phrase boundary.BlackWinny wrote:Have you seen the issue I related here?

Well, the last beta is b17, which contains the batch MIDI file conversion. You probably missed my earlier post from yesterday.BlackWinny wrote:Yes yes Dany. The last beta is even 2.56b16.

Yes, I have seen it. This is a minor UI rendering issue and does not influence playback. There are more serious problems that must be taken care of first.BlackWinny wrote:About the behavior concerning the (dis)appearance of joined notes, I don't know if Attila has seen the problem.
The beta xml file is still at http://www.musicdevelopments.com/beta.xml
and I keep it up-to-date.
Thanks,
Attila

Attila,
Did something change in the MIDI In settings "Receive Start/Stop/Continue" ?
I've been sending/receiving fine over LAN (in Live 9.x) and now every time I change a parameter (add a phrase, import a MIDI, anything changes) (in RC) I have to reset my port and channel ( in Live) to get RC to respond.
I cannot determine if it is a problem with Live or RC. Sorry for this!
I am hopeful you can take a look to see if something got changed in your code.
I have also noticed a lag in RC when loop is enabled. RC gets to the end of the loop section and then pauses a few milliseconds before the loop. Is this normal? I seem to recall an immediate looping sequence.
Thanks for checking into these issues!
Best regards and
Happy Musiking!

Hi Yıldırım,
When added to a phrase, the variation is applied before rendering the phrase, before the notes are computed, so it works with the parameters only. I have a solution in my mind to fix this.
Thanks!
Attila
This annoys me because I can't reproduce it on Win7 x64, RC x64.yellukhan wrote:Hi Attila,

I know what you mean. 'Join Notes' works a bit differently when added to a track as opposed to added to a phrase. When added to a track, it is executed when all phrases are rendered, and all note values are known. So it can correctly join notes at chord boundaries.yellukhan wrote:about the Join note variation

Yes, Observed here too this afternoon. Very subtle but a real present lag cumulating at each loop... After a test of one hundred loops (short loops for the test, only one phrase) I had a total lag of about one second compared to the same phrase repeated 100 times without loop in a long, long timeline (duplication made with the Structure inspector).dsan@mail.com wrote:I have also noticed a lag in RC when loop is enabled. IIRC you are on PC, right? Then nothing changed with MIDI handling. I checked all recent changes.

Follow Up:
The behavior exhibits itself in Sonar X2 and Studio One v2 also. I have to reset port and channels each time a parameter is changed in RC. This only seems to be happening when the looper is engaged.
I also notice the lag in playback from the start position inside RC when the looper is engaged. Without looper on RC starts and plays immediately from any position in the timeline.
It seems that fault is in the looper; causing a delay in playback and/or sending the MIDI notes to the outside.
HTH Attila.

RC is on PC Vista x64. Using rptMIDI over LAN to W7 x64 (has Live on it). Sorry I did not include that earlier.
I have all previous versions so I will attempt a re-install and let you know.
Thanks for the prompt reply!
