(with key/CC switches you can easy put lots of patterns in one exs instance)
midi parts on touch tracks routed to exs
trigger touch tracks ...

wow, you must be a developer in the logic team then, if you know in what situation logic is when it comes to re-writes. there is something like object oriented programming - since 30 years .... and logic is most likely not one chunk of code in one file.

Never understand for the life of me why someone hangs around a product thread that they don't even use

Speaking of toys, I would have thought that username would have loved a toy daw? (If that's what it really was)

I agree with "L9 on steroids". It still has the same controls and engine and whatever as L9, and yes, it does look a bit like GarageBand. But ... the interface is extremely important when it comes to software. I'm a Logic user since L7, and that was a bit of a PITA for certain tasks. L8 and L9 improved usability, which makes tweaking tracks more fun. In my book, that is good.

That's got to be guessing, but not necessarily uneducated. If pdxindy works in software, there's a good chance he/she knows about software development and life cycles. His/her statement sounds quite reasonable to me.

If you don't like it, and don't even use it, then why are you here in this thread at all? What are you trying to accomplish? To piss all over Logic Pro X? What a waste of everyone's time if so...

You are absolutely right. It seems that most of the people who make FCPx comparison don't own or know FCPx at all and the different situation what was going on on that side

It is not about what people like (referred to whatever). WHat I don't like is when people don't know a simple difference.

A) Logic SHARES some features, graphics and workflows with GarageBand so does MainStage.
B) Logic doesn't LOOK like GarageBand.

Aren't the two main GUI components of a DAW the Arrange WIndow and the Mixer WIndow. WHat kind of imaginary glasses are you looking through to come up with "looks just like"
GarageBand uses the Track Info window instead of a Mixer which is a completely different look and workflow.

It is one thing to spread around fantasy opinions but if it comes to just saying bs and making sh*** up, that's a whole different story.

No offence, but you're really clutching at straws here. Turning off the advanced features makes the program less advanced? Is this the best you can do?

So i'm gonna download Garageband today and see if your right. As i'm new to Logic altogether i'm gonna compare.. your rants here have made me choose to download and test both together.. i hope i don't waste money on this test and you end up looking like a bulls knacker.. we'll see and i'll report back.

Did you read the other reasons before that sentence? Didn't thinks so. I'm not the only one who thinks so. Even Apple reps said on the day it came out " At first you thought Garageband didn't you?". I don't think I'm the one clutching at straws as you going to continually hear " Oh look Garageband" from people and it's going to infuriate you and you will claim they are "ignorant" and don't know the difference between the two because you don;t want to think that it does. It looks very similar to Garageband and wether that is a good or bad thing is up you. I personally don't and thats ok.

I'd rather test your theory hands on. Anyways like i said i'm new to Logic BUT i do feel it to be very PRO indeed. I can't see anything here in LPX that would stop me knocking out good tracks. It has what i need and at $200 i think it's a steal. I also like the look of it. There seem to be a lot going on feature wise although i'm a new user i'm still finding things out.
