Different topic - and comments like these only irritate people.

Yes, for Alchemy users....
Again - nonsense comment, not funny even.

Even if Omnisphere 2 is now gearing towards Alchemy's concept with WAV loading capability (custom wavetables) - it is NOT the successor to Alchemy, neither is there any official "press release" that Spectrasonics bought(!) Alchemy.

Rumors like this only add to confusion and extra work for the developers in question.

Like: "I heard on KVR audio that Alchemy users get Omni 2 for free - I like's me some free upgradez, pleaze!". :dog:!

Something a company like Spectrasonics definitely doesn't need - especially if they're overrun with support inquiries already.

EDIT:
And f%#k this thread posting amount is worse than with Camel Audio's thread. I think I'll come back in like 48 hours and then have to scrawl through 40+ pages of non-informative content.

Otherwise what will JRR with the discounts like sell Omnisphere 2 for on April 30?
Grace Period Upgrade: FREE

For new Omnisphere customers from October 2014 thru May 2015
(Standard Licenses)

So to answer my question, yes.

So where does one buy the Omnisphere 1 for the lowest price?

what is (Standard Licenses?
A standard license is when you have bought a brand new sealed box version from an authorized Spectrasonics dealer.
Which is something I now regrettably didn't do as I bought a second hand license on here for £175 (great deal I thought at the time)
But as this is a transfer license and not a standard license, and even though it falls within the grace period, it looks like I'm going to have to pay more overall to upgrade to V2 than I would if I bought it brand new.

Lessons learned: If you wonder about buying a plug, don't do it at the end of the month.

Chances of being included in a grace period is much bigger from the 1st of the month

This Omni-V2 is indeed great news!
Any news on Stylus like I've heard people asking for also?
Or do they only do one a year?

Looks like the Omnisphere 1 price is at $479.
(I assume the standard license)
So I will wait till April 30 and during that time
perhaps I can find V1 for less?

you must be german...

I must applaud Spectrasonics for the preview now instead of April 30. I can make plans accordingly.

Since Alchemy 2 is out only Absynth remains as a contender for me. So unless Absynth 6 is not announced by April 30 I will go with Omnisphere 2.

@Compyfox

Lighten up a bit--you'll live longer.
No one is disagreeing with you. But on the other hand, we all know the score, and, under the circumstances, everyone can use a laugh.

Didn't I see something on the GS forum last week where someone from Spectrasonics posted a humorous comment in response to the KVR Camel thread?

Cheers

Absynth and Alchemy have a sonic range closer to each other than either does to Omni.
They always seem darker into the abyss than others to me.

I'd be curious about this too... but I'm thinking that "Over 400 New DSP Waveforms for the Synth Oscillator" means that you won't and I think they're using the term wavetables more the way Zebra 2 handles them than your more traditional PPG kind of wavetable. "Wavetable Synthesis - Each Waveform is now a Morphing Wavetable" What I wonder is how many morph targets to you get per "table." I wouldn't be surprised if you get to choose two waveform types and morph between them. Still, that's good enough for me.

Honestly, in looking at this I think I can safely say that there's now a Fizmo replacement software synth.
