Nah, the blurred teaser isn't MORPH related....we can be pretty fast in adding stuff to products but MORPH 2 has only been out for...what...3 weeks?
Mr. UNknown Plugin is something entirely different...

Apologies in advance...I needed to vent some joy. UPS just dropped off a new H6 on my porch this morning. I've been playing with it for a while and it's going to be awesome. The sound quality is more than adequate for any field recording that I might want to do. I'm a happy camper. I ordered the stereo shotgun mic and should get it next week. I'm gonna go around the house and bang on some things now and get some raw material to tweeze. I'll start with my 26" Paiste gong.whyterabbyt wrote:At some point this year, I intend to swap out my H4N for an H5 and possibly the shotgun/XLR options. The reviews Ive seen definitely indicate the H5/H6 preamps are a step up from the H4.rustman wrote: I'll never go full-on, but I've been very seriously considering the Zoom h6 with all mic options for a while now. The new stereo shotgun attachment comes with a dead cat (as all of them should). Likewise, some say the preamps aren't too bad, and they can provide phantom power. /actual thread derailment
We've got an H6 at work if I ever needed 6 inputs, but its a bit too large for an always-with-me unit.
Did I mention that Pitchmap is the boss?

Stop that! You're being a bad influence on me.rustman wrote: Did I mention that Pitchmap is the boss?

He's right, though.deastman wrote:Stop that! You're being a bad influence on me.rustman wrote: Did I mention that Pitchmap is the boss?
That's not how it works. It morphs 2 sound sources, A and B. The left side morphs from A (top) to B (bottom) and the right side morphs from B (top) to A (bottom). This is done because the results are different depending on what sound you start from.WolfKay wrote:lnikj wrote:Morphing 4 sound sources (quadrants of central circle).
Dragging the circle horizontally (left-right) fades between the two morph processes.
If you want to morph 3 sources, you need to add another MORPH plugin in series, and with a different sidechain. So it goes Morph (A vs B) -> Result -> Morph (Result vs C). Etc...
This "limitation" is mostly because almost no DAWs support more than 1 stereo input + 1 stereo sidechain, so you can't have more than 2 sources (A and B). But it's easy to work around by using multiple Morphs in series.
Love.

This makes me wonder if it might actually be better to have a mode which allows to morph between four different sounds- one in each corner. And along each morph axis could be a "direction" button to control which direction the algorithm starts and ends with.

I (unsurprisingly) fully endorse this sentimentJohnnyA wrote: He's right, though.Zynaptiq Pitchmap and MORPH 2 are absolutely unique plugins, and nothing else even comes close. Buy them both. You need them.

I look forward to seeing more. I'm interested in how it can be creatively misused for non-drum sounds as well.
...also, because I'm the guy who was right (see above), I'd like a gold star and a cookie.

I'll see what I can do in terms of gold stars and cookies. I only have vegan cookies, though

I see you prefer the peatiest malts from Islay! My favourites too.
I lived in Scotland for 4 years while I did my PhD. We were over on the West Coast and the Islands almost every weekend, walking and climbing; beer was too heavy to carry in to bothies, so a flask of malt was the order of the day. I got to taste most of them over the years, but my favourites are Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Talisker (visited distillery on Skye 3 times on rainy days) and the less peaty but vey quaffable Highland Park from Orkney. I note the bottle of Ardbeg there as well. That was rare stuff in those days because the distillery had closed down and I only tasted the old stuff once. I think it is up and running again under new ownership now.
Have fun in Frankfurt and anybody who visits your booth will clearly do so to!
