Hey wags. If you like zeta2, you should try rapture too (free with cmm 200 btw). It reads wavetables, unison up to 9 voices, awesome modulation possibilities, easy to program.. Just awesome piece of synth. And you can load your own waveforms to it so basically it can sound anything you load to it. My waldorf rocket makes superpads now that I sampled it, loaded to rapture, stacked 2 layers of it with 9 unison..
And those layers are independent so you can make things really complex with small cpu hit

I'm going to pass on Rapture for 2 reasons. One, I already have a great wavetable synth in Serum and don't really need another one. Two, only reason I even considered Z3ta+2 was because it was on sale for $50. At full price Rapture isn't something I'd get even if I didn't own Serum. Maybe someday if it goes on sale I'll demo it and consider it. But right, I'll pass.Lejurai wrote:Hey wags. If you like zeta2, you should try rapture too (free with cmm 200 btw). As to how I made Diversion sound "bad", I didn't say it sounded bad. I said I wasn't thrilled with the sound. It didn't do anything for me. Besides that, the GUI is too cluttered. It really needs an overhaul.
Ultimately, the synth just didn't impress me enough to spend $169 for it.

The Winner of the Dune 2 library is Yorrrrr (hope I included enough "r's" in that.)
ETA for library completion is end of May 2015.
The winners of the Z3ta+2 library, in case they missed it, are...
Naenyn
Yessongs
Yobare
Library will be completed by the end of this month.

It's going to be different. I'm trying to stay away from the more cliched sounds. They'll be some, but I'm looking to put together something a little different. It's hard to break convention with this one because the great unison just lends itself to those kind of sounds. But I'm working on it.Yorrrrrr wrote:Wow thanks wagtunes. I'll wait patiently for your DUNE 2 library and I hope it's going to be as good as the Serum one (which I have). Cheers.
When the library is done, I'll announce it here and you can PM me for a private download link.

I was the first one who mentioned DUNE 2 in this thread and I won't get anything?
No problem, wagtunes, as I don't have DUNE 2, anyway, but it's still a bit unfair...

Everyone who recommended Dune 2 before I made my decision was put into a pool and randomly chosen by a random generator algorithm. I felt that was the fairest way to do this other than just take the first suggestion. Otherwise, what was the point of others suggesting the same synth?Tricky-Loops wrote:I was the first one who mentioned DUNE 2 in this thread and I won't get anything?

However I did this, somebody was not going to be happy.
I felt my way was most fair.

Oh, I should have known it before, that's why I don't participate in lotteries...

When the thread was first started (if you read the OP) I wasn't even thinking of giving away anything. That decision was made much later in the thread.Tricky-Loops wrote:Oh, I should have known it before, that's why I don't participate in lotteries...
Nobody was forced to give me suggestions. As a member of this forum, I kindly asked. I got a lot of great suggestions, I hoped simply because the community here is helpful. I didn't think anybody was doing it out of some need to get something in return. I've purchased 2 synths from these suggestions already and am giving out 4 prizes already. This isn't something I had to do nor planned to do.
For what it's worth, it was Mutantdog letting me know that Dune 2 was on sale that put me over the edge on buying it. If anyone deserves something in return it was him. Had the synth not been on sale I might not have purchased. But because of the suggestions and his important information, I felt the only fair way to do this was randomly. Again, I don't have to give away anything nor was that my intention when I first started this thread.
So I am sorry if you feel slighted in anyway.
Like I said, you're never going to please anybody.
But I can see that there is a lesson to be learned from this. This will be the last time I ever do anything like this because I can see how it's always going to end up.

I'm not happy. I didn't mention Dune though. I didn't even want a free soundset. I'm just generally unhappy.wagtunes wrote:Everyone who recommended Dune 2 before I made my decision was put into a pool and randomly chosen by a random generator algorithm. I get the feeling that this is a common state of mind around here.

Do you really think yet another synth can change it?wagtunes wrote:I get the feeling that this is a common state of mind around here.zerocrossing wrote:I'm not happy. I didn't mention Dune though. I didn't even want a free soundset. I'm just generally unhappy.
