I mean, is it that much of a far-fetched idea?liquidsound wrote: Tue Oct 22, 2024 6:10 pmMission Impossible. Matt will be in the openM1st wrote: Tue Oct 22, 2024 1:19 pm We need to wait for the release of Serum 2, then Matt will come along with Vital 2 and the cycle will be complete.![]()

I didn't check the sequence of the events, but I'm curious if the sudden interruption of Vital's updates started around the announcement/rumors/speculation of the coming of Serum 2...?M1st wrote: Wed Oct 23, 2024 3:31 pmI mean, is it that much of a far-fetched idea?liquidsound wrote: Tue Oct 22, 2024 6:10 pmMission Impossible. Is Matt lately answering or giving any info at the Vital’s official site and forum? Or only in the discord?
Vital has so much potential. Just worried the bugs some users are having won’t get fixed.

Just my concerns.
I bought Vital right away when it arrived.
And I found it very powerful synth with nice features. But I didn’t have time and energy back then to make music and so I didn’t have time to really use Vital or spend time learning it.
Now I am getting back to more music making and the situation with Vital doesn’t seem very promising… I think it would work ok right now without any updates from the DEV. But if I need to change to MAC (now on Win), or how well it will hold in the future if there’s no more updates… It just get me wondering: is there any point spending time with this synth if it’s future is unsure.
It just doesn’t feel so appealing to take Vital and focus on it when I have these concerns. Maybe I am overthinking?

My (maybe not so) short version or 2 cents on the topic:Bartone wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2024 8:47 am Just my concerns.

If a plugin or music making device is usable for me for what I want to make right now then I use it.
This usefulness is super personal and is influenced by many factors. My favourite Youtuber, a cool guy on a forum, an artist I like, The GUI, the workflow, the sound of certain presets just to name a few.
I wanted to like certain plugins because... they were the cool thing.
Gotta have it to be pro and the like.
Took me several decades to get rid of this thinking and still find myself with the itch to be a cool kid in the cool bunch because I could sport another $179 for the newest freshest and hippest plugin.
Well just because.
Many hours of e.g.
- testing stuff like aliasing vs. oversampling,
- comparing so many compressors on a drum loop,
- diving deep into "my DAW sounds better then yours and why not".
Just to name a few obvious ones.
Double blind ABX tests are so revealing. For all of these topics.
OK, this is the rather short version.
Bottom line: Use what you think/feel makes you do better music. You might never know if this synth does to you what you are searching for. Using it helps you to find out what you are searching for and maybe even to find it.
ABX is enemy to GAS
