Ok, I see a problem starting here. I think we have to set a limit on the amount of songs. We are near 40 songs! That, in itself, is great! So much giving. However, we have to stop soon or we will be on 3 CD's, which won't work, and will be too expensive. So we should probably set a limit. Maybe somebody should add the total time together to see if we are close or over already.
If we do go over, maybe we should make two CD's with bonus DOWNLOADABLE songs on the website, using a password inside the jacket or something. Or maybe a few volunteers to make their songs free as samples.
One way or another, we need to have a limit, or it won't work. Plus, Totc will be flooded already.
By the way, my song, which is listed as no link, is about five and a half minutes. I haven't given the link yet since I had some minor computer problems the past couple days. It's coming, so please keep my spot there.
Any ideas?

Just a note, I'll probably shave off about 3-4 minutes of the begining as it's a bt overindulgent for a project at it's current size..

Okay, here's the thing with preorders:
1) Someone needs to decide the actual price for the CDs. I suggest $25 *including* shipping *anywhere*. This is a fundraiser after all. We don't want to be bogged down by what goes where.
2) Someone needs to decide the actual target for the income (ie, who gets our money). I think our US friends should do that. Some musician organization down in NO was suggested - find us a good cause and let's decide upon it.
3) Someone needs to set up a paypal account - I can do it if that's okay with everyone here - you will simply have to trust me...
I am not going to run away with the money...plus I have a US bank account so it's easy for me to transfer money from my PayPal account into any relief fund.
Someone needs to take charge and actually make some decisions so that we can respond to the momentum that is building up. I think I could easily get us 25 preorders within a couple of days at $25 per CD.
Let's get the preorder thing going and we'll see this project take off. I can get a PayPal button and a preorder text up tomorrow morning CET (Central European Time - it's a bit too late here in Norway at the moment and we just lost a soccer game to the Scottish so I need to go to bed).

Don't be hasty Don. Let's see. We have some options and we don't have too many tracks as yet. It's all cool so far.Sicklecell666 wrote:Just a note, I'll probably shave off about 3-4 minutes of the begining as it's a bt overindulgent for a project at it's current size..

I like the idea of downloadable songs, but that's really up to you as it could mean substantial bandwidth.koolkeys wrote:Ok, I see a problem starting here. As far as the cd goes, there will have to be a selection made out of what we have. It's the best way I think as it will yield the cream of the crop.

I could probably lose about 40 seconds at the end of my song if I need to for reasons of space, though I was using that repeated part to emphasize the point. Whatever I can do to help in other ways as well, I would be willing.
