now you sound like my father, but it is my generation at the helm so to speak. Pages change, chapters end, new chapters start but in the end generations vary. Technology has a lot to do with this, my 83 year old mother on facebook is amazing but not typical. But I think about the microwave oven or Radar Range as it was originally known as around my town. Even in the 80s the microwave was still more on the luxury side than the need side. Now it's as important as a refrigerator, we just got a new one because our old one was ill. It was important to replace it before it died so we wouldn't go without.

Generations to come will bring inventions that we can't even see now that we will wonder how we ever got along without it. But I still hate cell phones :hihi:
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Eh, if something hurts MY brain. How on earth is that RUDE? Damn it man. Grow some skin. US foreign politics hurts my brain to the core, so does Finnish taxation, silly iPhone applications and whatnot. That doesn't make it rude.

You seem to read way too much into what I write and take it all personally, so this is for you:

All I have ever said and will ever say is IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHOIMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHOIMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO

'imo' would be better, because you seem to be everything, but not humble.
'all' is wrong: please re-read my post!

Hah. ok have it your way. You sir, are annoying, IMO. :hihi:

When the whole world believes they are rockstars and special snowflakes, who will be left to tell anyone otherwise?
Don't worry about it, the old have been complaining about the young for eternity. Ohh, those pesky care-free 1920s Charlestonites, they don't know they are born.

How astute. There this little thing called "death" that ensures every generation literally surpasses the next. :hihi:

Nahh , its just the same old shit each time around, different music, different clothes, different lingo but people aren't getting any smarter just because they know how to use an iPod and their grandparents don't.
Its standard behaviour for teenagers and 20 somethings to think they are smarter than the old "fuddy-duddies" that came before them, but when you get a little older you realise that your generation is just repeating the same old cycle with a few superficial variations.
The next bunch will do the same too. That's life (and that's D.N.A.)..

I have to disagree with that a bit, depending on how you define "smarter". Young people will always realise, when they get older, that they don't get any wiser than the old peeps but if you define smarter as "more processing efficiency/power" then in fact, according to latest studies, kids are getting smarter! Due to the constant haste and more complex machines all around them they are adapting to this environment which means the brain needs to process faster and more stuff at once. Ultimately this means that indeed the young folks of the future will be smarter than us old people. :) (Edit: google the Flynn Effect if interested)

Smart doesn't mean better though.. it just means different. Not to mention that there are so many different types of intelligence that partly define the character of us humans.

Ah.. got to love the off topic stuff in this useless thread. :hihi:

Cheers!
