It's called "being scared about the future and since not a single host works right why should I have all this crap" :hihi:

Notice I mostly haven't pulled out the "big guns" yet though.......I'm holding out on those but alas, I feel I'll be stripped down to the basic necessities in about 3 months time.

A wise guy...

I am (of course) demoing it right now, but I would like to hear some opinions of users. I mostly see it as great tool to fatten up tracks, or to give some special flavor to them. I doubt I will use it as much as a straight distortion unit, as say Kombinat or Predathom. Anyway, do you still find good use for it after a couple of months owning it? I appreciate talking me out of it as much as talking me into it :)
Saturn is much more than just a distortion, though it is excellent at that.If you can get it for 50% less grab it while you can.

Saturn is the best and most influential (on my music) tool i bought this year.

you could always use it to spice up ready made loops....
Finally!

Last kick I'll give this topic (I promise, t3toooooo ;))
I just bought it, and wanted to say thanks for the ones that cared to respond! Got it together with Twin for about the price of one plugin, so very nice deal there.
Off making good (ab)use of it :D

Thanks to the "best of" thread, I just downloaded the 30 day demo and am trying Saturn.

Holy f**k, it's amazing. Better give it some time to see, sometimes new things sound great just because they're new, but at first listen, if this isn't the magic pixie dust, I don't know what is.

Post

Magic pixie dust would be Übermod IMHO. But Saturn is absolutely brilliant indeed. Mayhem? Got it. Beefing up a track or entire mix? Got that as well.

I need to try it. Been impressed by video demos. Another saturation I really liked was BX Saturator
Aiynzahev-sounds
Sound Designer - Soundsets for Pigments, Repro, Diva, Virus TI, Nord Lead 4, Serum, DUNE2, Spire, and others

I have the Valhalla Room demo all over the album I'm working on now, just waiting for that brief financial respite to get the liscence (the demo dropouts don't matter now but they will when mixing down time comes, LOL). At the moment every time I've got a 50 at hand I have to get something for my child (not complaining of course). I think VhR is one of the best plugins ever created, and one of the best electronic reverbs I've ever heard, bar none. I'm trying the Übermod demo but it has not clicked for me, even though it is obviously excellent.

I haven't tried the "heavy" stuff in Saturn yet, just subtle touches which seem to be magic so far. Gotta do the whole playing-on-different-systems routine before I can say for sure.

I'm the only one that didn't care for the distortion sounds in saturn that much. I feel like it sounds exceedingly digital, and is not great for reproducing analog distortion sounds, where I feel like the DCAM stuff does a much better job.
Has anybody ever really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Apparently so.

that was a stupid reply. seriously. I mean, atleast I gave my opinion and even added an alternative that I feel does the job better.

are we only allowed to post positive opinions? that doesn't lead to much discussion.

seriously man, why reply with "apparently so" that's just a stupid, worthless response. I mean... did you actually get mad because I didn't like Saturn?

Did it make you question your own purchases or something? I just don't understand the need for a response like that, apparently what I wrote made you feel negative emotions like sadness, fear, anger, etc...

What's going on standalone? Something we need to talk about? You can PM me if you have personal matters you don't like to discuss on the plugins forum.

Oh.

Personally I have Saturn,Camelphat and Ohmicide.
Saturn is best for the subtle stuff,Ohmicide for mayhem.Camelphat just sounds different to the other two,not quite sure how to explain it,it just does.I like and use all three of them.
Variety is the spice of life as they say :)
