You can't buy happiness (even with Alchemy 2).
You will be an example for all KVRers, of a man who is happy even with only 127 synths.
In The Future, your neighbors will look back at all the kvetching on this thread and say, "Oy, this is what wagtunes was like before he stopped buying synths! But look at him now, so happy and even winning the OSC!"

Z3ta is one of my faves so glad I suggested it and won a free bank Thanks I really appreciate it. I suggested Spectral to and you will probably end up getting it one day so let me know what you develop bank wise for that.

the gui on 1080+p display is a mess.Tricky-Loops wrote:At least you should have Rhino by Big Tick Audio, it's one of the best synths and can even load custom waves!
Padshop Pro is awsome, got it a few weeks a go, sampled the demo voice from Sylenth1 and made a stunning pad with Padshop Pro in 15 mins. ( had no idea before how padshop pro was working, so had to find everything myself, thats why it took so long).
i think you shouldnt buy any new synths, have you mastered all you have already?
my list is shorter and i still havnt tried synthmaster2, Cycle, Absynth5, FM8, Basic, ACE.
ok Dune2 is a must have, the factory presets are stunning for ambient, you can create breath-taking drones with it or all kind of crazy pads. its a good choice.
Diversion you already mention, why you dont like it.

Have I mastered all the synths I have? I've been programming synths since 1979. Programming synths is like riding a bike to me. The only synth I haven't "mastered" yet is Cycle because it is just so radically different from everything else out there. Otherwise, programming my collection is a cakewalk.Ameyah Audio wrote:the gui on 1080+p display is a mess.Tricky-Loops wrote:At least you should have Rhino by Big Tick Audio, it's one of the best synths and can even load custom waves!

Why don't I like Diversion? Mostly I don't like the GUI. I think it's a cluttered mess. The sound is okay but it doesn't blow me away. It just isn't worth the $169 that they want for it.
And I have gotten Dune 2 and am working on a Library for it along with Z3ta+2.
My next synth (in May) will probably be Spectral. June will probably be Syn-X and July will probably be Diva. And that's only because I love the sound of U-he's synths even though I still say that, relatively speaking, Diva is a very narrow synth. It's certainly no Zebra 2. But it does have its niche and I'm sure I will find a use for it.

spectral i own too, yet another crazy pad machine - if you are into ambient you will like it.
i never got warm with z3ta+ 1&2 (own version1), the gui is nice, but i like the handling of the detune not.
Diva is a machine, well one cant do anything wrong with u-he plugins.
Syn-X those 80s sounds, i love it.
the reason why i ask about if you have mastered all plugins you have, is because there are lots of people out there buying synths and soundset only to have them, but not really having an idea how to program. maybe you wrote it, anyway, i think you choices are really good for the future.

My challenge is not so much programming synths as it is getting a handle on what people want. You know the old saying, you can't please everybody. I've had comments on my libraries ranging from "really great" to "What are you a 12 year old?"Ameyah Audio wrote:spectral i own too, yet another crazy pad machine - if you are into ambient you will like it.

Everybody has their own taste. When I finally came to realize this I decided that I would just make the kind of sounds that I like. If other people like them, great. If not, oh well.
Because like I said, you can't please everybody.

One thing I can't understand. How you were able to make Diversion sound bad
As to how I made Diversion sound "bad", I didn't say it sounded bad. I said I wasn't thrilled with the sound. It didn't do anything for me. Besides that, the GUI is too cluttered. It really needs an overhaul.
Ultimately, the synth just didn't impress me enough to spend $169 for it.

Also, after having researched Rapture, the synth hasn't been updated in 8 years. If I'm going to get something that old it better blow me away sound wise.
Also, I looked for the back issue of CM that gave away Rapture and it's no longer available. Certainly not at 5 euro. I've seen some back issues of CM for between $25 and $35.
But none of this is the point. Rapture just doesn't give me anything that I don't already have in Serum and better.
