Oxe FM Synth

The issue with anything is that you need to use your best judgement not to drive it too far. For example, eq or filter resonance can drastically change the sound of something.

Good luck to all :-)

voted. As evidenced by many many of the tracks this month, the Oxe is a good sounding synth. For an FM, I thought it was surprisingly good at producing analog-y types of sounds.

Definitely agree. I think, though, that the inclusion of a filter & basic analog waveform shapes was the key there... e.g. many of the free FM synths only have sine wave oscillators. What's the takeaway from this? The BSE must be FM focused, with at least basic analog shapes! ;)

Really dug the Eauson, a-type, and Orbosope tracks. A good variety there.

Hmm... lots of things... that ongoing saga that is life... ;)

... also I've VOTED!

I like FM more and more every time I use it. I don't really understand why it works as well as it does, but always seem to end up being able to get some good, clean sounds out of FM synths. OXE is a pretty good one, too. If it just added a toggle for +/-12 note pitch bend and "fixed" the filters, this would be one of the best free synths in existence, I think.

As always, if anyone wants constructive feedback, feel free to PM me.

Cheers! On to the next episode!

Yeah, always have, that's why I still have my DX-11 up and running. Although, a lot of the "bright" sounds are very much FM, and could probably not be anything else (bar samples!).

Mind you, I did like my old Casio CZ1000 http://www.vintagesynth.com/casio/cz1000.php I could get some ace sounds from that! :tu:

So, when's your beast gonna hit the OSC? You have a full set of Beta-testers here y'know! :hihi:

And ... yes .. onto the next synth ... BR808, to quote ... "Brian, my brain hurts!" :dog:
