If you were in Europe, I'd recommend Hanika. German made, excellent guitars. I have two, one with a spruce top and one with cedar. Two is excessive, but my wife is attached to the cedar model (they're the same level model, btw, all solid, rosewood back and sides, ebony fretboard) and I prefer the sharper attack of spruce. I had a 2nd hand Yammie that I picked up for €160 which I used on a few tracks perfectly well.

Wow! Mind your ears though ;)

A word about Amplitube 5. I swore up and down I wasn't gonna do it, citing all the sims, and my VOX as plenty. But A5 is a vast improvement over earlier iterations. It's not hard to come up with some killer tones on it. I'm happy I chose it. As of this moment, it's cost me about €37. It is absolutely worth it.

I got a Harley Benton Fusion III, the HSH model. Damn, to think I paid for it, new (b-stock, though), as much as I would pay for an Ibanez grg170, which is laughable in comparison... I bought my second guitar (probably ~15 years ago) for a similar price, and it was dog shit compared to this.
This guitar feels amazing, and sounds great (pickups could be lower power, just a preference). It holds tune, and the frets feel like glass. Nothing buzzes or rattles, and that's straight from Thomann, no setup yet, because I didn't feel the need to. I'm honestly very surprised.
Have I tried way too many (mostly cheap) pedals lately, and now I'm trying to get rid of them. The next 'big thing' to buy is a Pod GO, which should cover my pedal needs. Do we have anyone here using it? I like the Helix sound, but it's way big and bulky (and expensive) for my needs.

Replacement nut for my Yamaha acoustic guitar's plastic nut. Also, traded a few unused pedals for a Harley Benton PA-100 Power Attenuator.

G&L Bluesboy semi in orange.

I had just bought a Vintage V72, but it went back as build quality was absolutely terrible. I have three older Vintage guitars; a tele, an SG and a Jazzmaster. All are incredible guitars for the money with heaps of character and great build quality. The V72 though (Vietnamese) was just pathetic. The F-hole was rough, unfinished and had burn marks from the router. The bridge plate wasn't flush and you could poke a plectrum into the pickup cavity down the side. The finish was full of blemishes, there was a blob of glue on the back of the neck, etc etc.

Real crap.

It's a shame as Vintage always seemed like a great low-mid budget option with decent hardware, but the Vietnamese factory is obviously crapola.

The Bluesboy is wicked. I ruddy love it. It is so, so lively. Recomended.

What's the Egnater like?

What amp do you use? I thought you might be direct into pedals then interface.

I very seldom use amps these days (3), I usually use Hi-Z and pedals into an interface. It's nice to rock out on a amp occasionally, it's a different sound, feel and response. I think amps reveal the true sound of the guitars.

I managed to try a Horse AC Tone, might post some clips. I prefer it a lot of amp sims. I also find myself returning to AXP amp sims. they're easy to dial in and sound good.

amp these days is a small orange crush, solid state.
id like a nice tube amp, my old orange stack would be nice, but then id need a rehearsal room or indeed, an attenuator.
