They're working on the preset management (including previous version presets) now so I'll let you know.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 10:06 pmThank you Peter. Could you let us know?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 7:00 pmPer the AmplITube 5 news it states "AmpliTube 5 also features a totally redesigned Custom Shop with a more modern, easy to navigate interface, helping users demo and unlock gear faster, sort by gear they own or don’t own, unlock preset-specific gear, and more."Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 12:38 amCurious about this as well.jamcat wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 12:20 am 1) Will AmpliTube 5 CS use the old cab impulses from AmpliTube 4, or will it be using a subset of the new AmpliTube 5 impulses? This is important to know for continuity.
Plus..
Will it be possible to hide presets that have gear we don't own?
Does CS have the same routing options?
And does CS have the power amp improvements?
The routing options will be different based on these specs:
Simultaneous models in 5 CS will be 24 vs 57 in SE/5/MAX
Simultaneous amps in 5 CS will be 2 vs 3 in SE/5/MAX
And updated amp impedance is listed for AmpliTube 5 CS (as well as SE/5/MAX obviously).

Cool. if the feature set is still being worked on perhaps you can encourage them to allow us to completely hide presets with gear we don't own. I will get too frustrated going through presets with the constant error of missing gear. You guys at IK should be able to realize that this is not a pleasant experience.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 11:18 pm They're working on the preset management (including previous version presets) now so I'll let you know.

On another note, I have a question about the stereo input mode. I've seen pictures of the left and right going through separate amps. Is there a way to either have it go through a single amp but in a stereo mode, or to sync the left and right amps, in terms of adjusting settings, so they stay the same?

I was pretty sure it had already been stated that you would be able to put a filter on so you were not presented with equipment or presets you can’t use, it’s one of the reasons I preordered. It genuinely was the reason I stopped using 4 Max as there ended up being more gear and presets I couldn’t use than I could...preset lottery is no fun...Helix, Scuffam, GR6 etc, if you can see it you can use it.

The description Peter pointed me to is still vague enough that I'm yet to be convinced all that shop bollocks has been improved. It rings of corporate BS "user experience" speak which usually means the exact opposite im afraid. I'll let you guys be guinea pig on this update.SLiC wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 11:28 pm I was pretty sure it had already been stated that you would be able to put a filter on so you were not presented with equipment or presets you can’t use, it’s one of the reasons I preordered. From Peter's description it seemed that you can hide/deprioritise stuff you already own while shopping, but nothing was said about preset browsing.
I like to keep my shopping and mixing sessions separate, so IK's inclusion of gear I don't own in the main interface of AT4 and TR5 is rather frustrating.

Yes, if you can’t hide the stuff you don’t own then I think there will be a lot of negativity.
A lot.

IK rep has always described the current preset management as a feature, not a bug...
Pretty sure they are gonna change that behavior and yes, that'll be a deal breaker in some future A5 sales for me when I upgrade.

Alternatively, do what Kilohearts do with their presets if you don't own the effect. You can use the preset with the effect you don't have, but you can't edit it.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 11:25 pm Cool. if the feature set is still being worked on perhaps you can encourage them to allow us to completely hide presets with gear we don't own. I think that would be a better advert to make someone buy an effect /amp than a pop up telling you that you don't own the effect / amp.
The horrible preset management, is why I mostly stopped using 4. I mostly now use it for setting up effects chains or if there is a specific amp I want to use. I don't use the presets if I can help it.

Aha. I was confused by the struck-out €399 and read the €299 as the intro price for Max.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 7:12 pm1) New users pay $/€399.99 not $/€299.99 for the AmpliTube 5 MAX upgrade/crossgrade so I'm not sure why you'd see the same price.kovacs wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 11:17 am 1) Upgrade price
The upgrade price is listed as €299. Is that an introductory price from any version of Amplitube? Or is that a price quoted to me at the IK site because I have AT4 Max?
Edit: I see that it is the same if I log out. So there is no benefit from owning Max when upgrading.
So - if I get AT5 plus the Satriani addon (since I have the other packs already) for €249 I should basically have everything in AT5 Max per release date? Or am I missing something then. I have some jam points to spend so that is a good deal I think.

So, basically, sound-wise there's no point in moving to v5 whatsoever?

A question for Peter from IK
I bought Amplitude 4 deluxe in 2016
Barely use it because everytime I select preset, I got a message saying there some component missing. I find this really annoying. To me is like having a softsynth with preset that once selected you receive a message telling that one is not available until you buy it.
So August 2020, I decide to buy Amplitude 4 MAX to avoid having this ''missing component'' message. Everything was fine, until today.
With this new version 5, if I don't decide to buy the MAX version, will I have the same missing component message if I take lower version like CS, SE or Regular instead of the MAX one? If the answer is yes, I'll probably stay with version 4 MAX until you got a better price that the one you offer presently even I bought 4 MAX mid August 2020 and don't have that much to spend for an upgrade for so little time between.

Amplitube 4 MAX will include everything that was out at the time of its creation (which is Feburary 2016), so won't include Dimebag, Satch and Brian May packs. That's the issue with the "MAX" versions - it's not actually MAX, it's just a bundle of stuff that was released up to a single point in time, and doesn't include any of the stuff that's released later. the bundle is never updated.
So, essentially, you have that issue even with Amplitube 4 MAX. With Amplitube 5 MAX, you won't have that issue right now, but will have it once IK releases new content for Amplitube 5. if you buy regular (5 or 5 SE) version, you'll still have that issue just like you do right now.

And he is correct. Although It may be a feature that you (and others) do not like and would discourage you from upgrading.revvy wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2020 8:43 am IK rep has always described the current preset management as a feature, not a bug...
