Hi,
After further careful checking I think I do have to ask if something incorrect might be going on with RC MIDI keyboard chord input.
Background - I'm using the Cthulhu plugin in Bitwig to turn single key presses into chords. This is the source of the chords being sent here. They travel out of Bitwig into the loopMIDI virtual pipe 'loopMIDI Cubase to KMo', which you will see as the RC MIDI In. I have observed this pipe with MIDI-OX and it contains exactly what is expected, i.e. a set of chord note ons and note offs for each key press/release.
I made this video for reference:
https://www.screencast.com/t/eYYM812cZ3R
Questions:
1. What is the visual action going on in RC in the 'Enter chords from MIDI keyboard' box when I first open it (0:08)? It seems that locations may be flying by, leaving me no longer on the first chord where I'm starting (?)
2. Once I start entering chords, the box detects them correctly, but they do not get entered into the RC master track (at least not in the area visible). Should not the setup as configured ('Jump to Next Chord ...' checked) be causing those chords to be entered in the MasterTrack sequentially as they are supplied?
I note that I can turn off Cthulhu and play my full chords manually and the behavior is identical.
Please advise if the video or my questions are not clear. Thanks!

Try it with the other settings checked in settings, "receive midi start/stop/continue" and the one below it, "receive midi song position pointer" and see if that works.. (midi input, that is) .. Other than that, the only thing I can think of is some where along the chain, RC not getting all the info...
edit: I did notice that, in my case, if I press 1 note on my keyboard, RC flashes the master track position, but, does not write a chord.
after changing those settings, close RC and restart too

OK, more experimenting.
I found that timing clock was being sent thru the pipe. Of course that should not matter, but I squelched it at the source just in case it was relevant.
With the timing clock turned off, the behavior cleaned up and seems OK, both with automatic next chord stepping and without.
It seems the presence of the MIDI timing clock on the RC MIDI In somehow messes up the RC chord detection interaction/process.
It is much to be desired that the presence of timing clock (or any non-note data) be irrelevant here, if at all possible. Thanks!

possible new bug... A rendered Melody Editor when mirror vertical variation added does not mirror.. but, need to someone else to confirm..
edit: doesn't need to be rendered, just does not mirror..
edit: seems to not work with any of the melody generators
edit: ok, so if you add the variation, then render, it works..

Hi sj1,
thanks for your help in investigating this!
You are correct, for some reason MIDI clock events were passed to chord detection which was a problem.
I fixed this in beta23, which will be uploaded in a few hours.
Thanks,
Attila

This is crazy, because if I do the exact same, it works well here
I tried the same with beta22, not just with the latest version.
There must be a setting which is different on our setup.
I started to build beta23, and we'll see if you can reproduce it with it.
Thanks for the video (still can't believe my eyes)!

I watched the Mirror Bug video above. It's clear and undeniable.
FWIW, did a quick test here with Melody and Markov Melody generators and the problem did not appear. My vertical mirroring variable took place instantly as expected.
( RC 3.9b22 (x64), Windows 10 )

I never crashed, and with a crash something always stays in memory.. I'll reboot and try it again anyways.. For the most part, I just mostly default settings when possible..
edit: For what it's worth, I did START the experiment with the melody editor first.. not sure if that makes a difference..

Naw, I can repeatably re-produce the problem.. However, not related, but kind of, would be cool if the add variation button click would list the variations in a sorted order, like alphabetical..

About the new browser ... I used to drag and drop MIDI files from the computer onto the tracks ..Of course, it is now more convenient to drag and drop MIDI files onto tracks, but I expected that the browser would have a MIDI player or here you can say "Preview" (I personally do not need an audio player). I would like to listen to the midi file - do I need it? (
