Yeah, it's clearly the phones.
But they DO make other things. At some point, the phones aren't going to be as hot selling as they are now and they'll have to rely on their other products. Ignoring them is a bad idea. The tablet is already slowing in sales because of market saturation. Phones are a wee bit more disposable (shameful), and less expensive than tablets, so they're still in high numbers of sales. But perpetual growth is a foolish fantasy.

Starting to see that a number of people are quite upset and angry about all of this lost of support and sudden pulling out of the scene by Camel Audio. Especially when they have the full sound library or much of it.

It don't mean a thing IIAGTS

Now, on the flip side: If I was Apple employee #3141592654, and my job was to try to enhance desire for the next version of Logic, it seems a no-brainer to D/L IOS ports of vsti's onto my ipad, take it, and go down the hall to the marble-lined can and sit on my gold-plated toilet seat in my stall with my name on it, and play around.
Alchemy is certainly going to impress - even if you aren't a computer muso exposed to dozens of new audio softwares every year...

alchemy player was already free, and it was a pretty damn good free rompler (played all the preset packs they sold.)goldenanalog wrote:What the heck - I'm going to play the devil's advocate for a while longer!
3.) Is it possible that CA could have hurt the perceived value of Alc by porting it to IOS? They had one simple version in the Appstore that was literally free!

True - I forgot about that, killa ego - in IOSland, you could buy the whole Alchemy enchilada - which took up 2+ gigs(!) on my ipad Hair, and included a very cool version of the Alchemy soft - for less then 100usd.killa ego wrote:alchemy player was already free, and it was a pretty damn good free rompler (played all the preset packs they sold.)goldenanalog wrote:What the heck - I'm going to play the devil's advocate for a while longer!

Well, technically you got a taste of each of the packs - I believe that the size of the complete vsti w/Libraries was what? 20+ gigs? The IOS version was 10 times smaller, but sounded great - especially if you ran your Hair through a decent sound card (I use a Tascam IUR2 that I bought from MF for like $40usd - seen all kinds of crap on the totally reliable internets that says it won't work with Hair - yes it does/OS 8.1.2)killa ego wrote:you're talking all the preset packs for $100? yeah, that would cheapen the product considering they were asking for about $700 for the complete version of alchemy.

Hey, I think Camel jokes are for all, but jokes about autism are for autists only
Here we go:
Unlikely, but have you recognized already that apples are suspicious silent? They don`t talk, they don`t like phonecalls, they are doing all day long the same like hanging around in the kitchen or in the cellar, they wear stereotypical green, yellow or red and they even don`t complain if a Camel eats them. This is suspicious. This needs further investigations.Voice303 wrote:Do camels ever have autism?

all things go right as of their will.

Hey you go ahead and worry about Apple buying Camel all you want. No skin off my back, but the only thing you have is rampant speculation. The only bit of evidence we have either way is the owner of the company hinting in this thread it was foolish to think that.mandolarian wrote:So..."Pretty much implied" is the next best thing to the next best thing to the next best thing to being stated as fact? That's only 3 degrees away. Must be true.machinesworking wrote: Also Ben H pretty much implied in this thread that they did not get bought by
Apple, so it's all good.
You're basically saying "Prove Bigfoot isn't real!" A logical fallacy.

I swear: I have the greatest love and respect for Apple - And no: they don't look at all like another giant clusterf!ck like Mcdonalds, or Walmart...
And I absolutely *love* their most awesomest idea of building a giant space-age a$$ donut in silicone valley...
