Hi dsan,dsan@mail.com wrote:Is there a new beta to dl? (Although I can check just as easy)
Any idea yet what is causing the reset issue? This scenario seems to be true in all my DAW's (Sonar X2, Live 9, Studio One 2).
I seem to lose the connection if I drop in a phrase or fiddle with the region button.
no, there is no new beta yet.
I reviewed all changes one by one since early March but I could not found anything that could reset the MIDI output. What is the simplest to reproduce it? Do I need to install rtpMIDI? Or is it possible to test this on the same PC?
This issue was fixed today, so no more latency when starting playback...dsan@mail.com wrote:1.) With playhead set to start (1.1 on timeline) there is a delay in playback by a couple of milliseconds. This scenario is true regardless where the playhead is positioned on the timeline. With checkboxes empty, playback is immediate.
Thanks,

RC 2.56b18 Bug Report -- Midi export cuts off notes (again! -- I thought this was previously fixed, but it's here again).
See and hear it in this video I made here -- http://mstrdomain.com/RC256b18mid_expor ... ff_bug.mp4
FWIW just in case it's relevant, the first measure phrase has humanize variation, and the entire track also does too. Wondering if humanize is throwing off the export.

I was thinking essentially the same thing (i.e. a "User Songs" showcase). We could start out with a "stickied" post in this forum specifically for posting listening links (e.g. YouTube, Soundcloud, etc.) to compositions created with RapidComposer.musicdevelopments wrote:In the future I would like to have a web page with full or partial songs written by RC users.

David, thank you so much for the video! Now I know what the problem is and it is easy to fix.dbender wrote:FWIW just in case it's relevant, the first measure phrase has humanize variation, and the entire track also does too. Wondering if humanize is throwing off the export.
Yes, humanize was the key. What happened is due to 'humanize' two notes overlapped, so that they looked like
Code: Select all
Note1 ON Note1 OFF
[........................]
[,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,]
Note2 ON Note2 OFFThank you!

Since Note1 and Note2 were the same MIDI notes, Note2 was immediately turned off by Note 1 OFF. Stupid bug, but it is better to fix later than never...Code: Select all
Note1 ON Note1 OFF [........................] [,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,] Note2 ON Note2 OFF
Thank you!![]()

Great, glad to know that was helpful and my insight about humanize was right. I'm no coder, but am a logician, and I added the info about humanize after first posting that post when the logic light went off over my head after first posting without that humanize observation.
Perhaps this is also a clue in this direction, i.e., you may want to look into whether other variations adversely affect midi export.

No, the reason was that Digital Performer requested rendering of negative sample offsets at the beginning of playback (probably some kind of preroll?) which the RC plug-in did not handle well. This was fixed today. The next beta will contain lots of improvements for playback...dbender wrote:So, Attila/anyone, is this delay the reason that the first notes in the first measure don't play when using the RC plugin?

That's great, yes I think DP has some kind of pre-roll feature

I've found a new bug.
Collisions between names of lines in the Structure Inspector.
Imagine...
Here a starting situation:
I duplicate the Line 1 of the Part 1. Now I have:
Then with the mouse I want to drag-drop the Line 5 of the Part 1 to move it to the beginning of the Part 2. If I do it correctly I should have:
BUT!!!... I make a mistake and instead of the Line 5 I move the Line 1. The result is a collision:
... which sometimes leads to the complete silence when playing (necessity to save the composition, close RC, reopen RC, reload the composition)... and sometimes leads... to an immediate crash.
Whatever the situation, when two lines have the same name in a same part... there is a collision.
In fact, when one moves a line from a part to another part, this line should be automatically renamed so to have never any collision between names. A good solution should be probably to not only name the lines by default with only "Line L" but with "Part P - Line L" at their creation... and also rename them automatically by the same rule each time they are moved to a new place (so to be renamed regarding their new place).

Apologies for the tardiness of reply. I have had some issues come up that have prohibited me from responding to you.
I continue to investigate the issue. The problem is intermittent so now I am unsure if the source of the problem is within RC or elsewhere.
Thank you for your interest and dedication in resolving this; however, until I am able to pin it down, shall we put this to the back burner?
Looking forward to the next beta!
Best regards and
Happy Musiking!
