I also get this problem in Concert Brass II... specifically the highest playable note for trumpet solo (adagio, and other articulations). Perhaps also for non-solo This is really odd! I'm also noticing some "script error" messages popping up.

EDIT: Might be the result of purging everything but solo---maybe a Tvec 3.1 purge procedure bug?

(time interval something)

I hope this is all fixed soon. I JUST downloaded CBII so I assume all of the updates are included. Am I correct?

Why do certain divisions have more notes than others by the way? Are there plans to add more?

EDIT: Gah CBII takes so much RAM... I successfully saved a purged multi with 8 players each, but no divisi. Still it's about 1 GB of RAM. A single recorded Combi would be much more efficient. Are there any plans for a CBII exclusive Tuba by chance?

I purchased the Diamond and CBII combo and I have some questions regarding installation.

I just finished downloading the files so they should be the latest versions.
  • With Diamond there is a difference between the installation instruction and the contents of _Solo_Strings_1.zip and _Solo_Strings_2.zip.

    Instructions shows:
    Image

But the files (_Solo_Strings_1.zip and _Solo_Strings_2.zip) when extracted/unzipped layout as shown below.
    Image
    Note
    • the _Documentation folder under Strings_1 - its the only folder (as far as the ones that I've checked) that has its own private _Documentation folder.
    • Both Solo_String folders are missing the leading double underscores
Also I could not find documentation on the following.
(Pardon me if its listed somewhere in this thread, there's too many pages at this point to sift through it all).
  • With Concert Brass 2, didn't find any documentation - should I extract the CB2 files in the same folder as Diamond?
  • Does CB2 have its own TVEC download? (didn't see it if so)
  • There is no mention where the following zips are installed.
    • IR_Samples.zip
    • Samples_CB2_French_Horns_Stopped.zip
    • Samples_CB2_Trumpets_Stopped.zip
    • Wallpaper.zip
thanks

Re Diamond:

Just rename the two Solo Strings folders to add the __ prefix. I think that this was documented somewhere (in the midst of the GB thread). My guess is that these folders were created / changed to produce the Solo Strings product, hence the additional documentation.

Re CB II:

-- extract them into their own folder, not into Diamond,
-- I imagine the TVEC III patches are included in the other .zips (in Diamond, they were an add-on, so in a separate .zip file),
-- I would extract those 4 .zip files into your main CB II folder, along with the other Samples files.

as Darkstar said, create a separate folder for CB2

tvec...there are zip files with "instrument" in the name
[*]There is no mention where the following zips are installed.
  • IR_Samples.zip

all files should be unzipped in the same CB2 folder

Well I'm enjoying my software, but I do hope that the the uses some people are having with Diamond/CBII will be looked into. (What seems to be a round robin error in the cellos, and perhaps other instruments here and there. Someone is also curious about the piano in Diamond--is there a fully sampled version--so on.

My question is basically, why is it that each division has its own range? If I can play c-5 on 8 trumpets then why not on solo? Also, why do the flutters and pitch bends only work on certain notes?

Also, in many cases the pitchbend doesn't do anything when set to its down position. On CBII, there's a pitch up (only on the upper register :/), but no pitch down at all. I think this is probably the most odd behavior.

Do Diamond/CBII show up in Kontakt under Libraries the same as Pop Rock Strings?

Nope. Pop/Rock Strings is the only Kirk Hunter library that appears on the libraries list.

some of us have put the library folders in the factory folder so they show up under that

Ok...

I added the Diamond folder to the database scan list and now I have all these instruments listed alphabetically with multiple instruments all with the same name.
For example I have 9 instruments all named 00________KEYSWITCHED_DIAMOND_

and what is the trick to get the TVEC to show?

Thanks,

I'm sorry, I must be particularly dense this morning.
Could you clarify what you mean by 'factory folder'?

BTW thanks to everyone who answered my previous questions.

Most people here have installed the Kontakt Factory Library Selection. If you go into Mac HD Users, Shared, Kontakt Factory Selection Library, Instruments, and put the Diamond folder inside, it can be viewed from within Kontakt. You can do this from within any library, but this particular one makes the most sense. I suggest using the files menu though, because the library pane tends to freeze, load slowly, glitch out when browsing through libraries that aren't supposed to be there. (At least in my case.)

i think using Quick Load is the best option

:tu:
I was going to suggest this :D

I kept my three Kirk's libraries in their three respective folders I created and put these at the same level directory ('shared' folder on mac) as kontakt libraries. This way the database is faster in case you need it; it has just to scan the 'shared' folder.

I'm using a PC but I get the idea.
And that cleans up the organization, fixes instrument names, etc.?
Because currently my instrument listing looks like this:

The image below shows what looks like dupes but they are not. One is actually the muted version but you can't tell by the shown instrument name.

Unfortunately placing the KH libraries in Kontakt Factory Library is not an easy option for me because I don't have enough room on that particular hard drive. I'd have to reorganize/move all of the NI portion of my Kontakt library to make that possible.
