Checked. Only one installed. I made sure I installed in the same location as the original install, Cubase/vstplugins/kv331audio. It's the only place on my entire drive where there is any dll file with that name.z.prime wrote:I think the issue might be that you just have multiple copies installed and Cubase is just picking one of them...wagtunes wrote:It says 2.6.4.2 so I guess it's an older version but newer than the one I had.SoundGoddess wrote:So did you end up getting up and running again with the latest version or did you revert to your backup files?
Which is odd because I downloaded the latest update and installed it. But I guess using the old license file doesn't actually give me the latest EXE. Either that or the version I'm seeing is not the right one.
Don't know, don't care. As long as I have a working version I'm no worse off than I was before.
Maybe one day I'll figure out how to actually update this to the latest version.

+1, same thing happened to me. As I mentioned above, cut and pasting into the old directory did it.z.prime wrote: I think the issue might be that you just have multiple copies installed and Cubase is just picking one of them...

Here's my entry for this month:
https://soundcloud.com/ontrackp/ontrack ... nce-osc-73
34 instances of SM (full version)
Most of the sounds are newly programmed, a few are tweaked presets, including Toms and Crash Cymbal from the OSC bank. (thanks again to everyone who donated patches!).
Produced in Logic Pro X. I used the Logic compressor (the new version is awesome), some light channel eq, multi-compressor and adaptive limiter on the mix. Generally I used the built in efx in SM, but added a little reverb and delays from Logic on a few channels.
To be honest, I'm submitting this now to force myself to stop tweaking at it. I like the sound of SM a lot, but I found programming to be pretty awkward and this project was beginning to get very time consuming.
I hope you all enjoy my song, and I'm looking forward to listening to the entries as they come in!

Well, that was certainly different. A nice refreshing change from a lot of the EDM I'm used to hearing.ontrackp wrote:Here's my entry for this month:

Well, somethings going on, I've just downloaded the new bank and only managed to get to the c64 preset and it crashed both Mulab and Reaper, was fine before.
Anyone else having problems ?

Yes, the BA Dubstep 1 preset crashed Cubase. That's what made me update SM to the latest which ended up causing more problems that I eventually resolved. I'm not even really sure what version of SM I'm running now but it does load faster than it used to and I do have a search function in my browser screen now, something I didn't have previously.bibz1st wrote:Well, somethings going on, I've just downloaded the new bank and only managed to get to the c64 preset and it crashed both Mulab and Reaper, was fine before.

So here it is, "Winterschulung 2015",
hope I have learned a bit from last (and first) contest. Thank you again for the good advices. Mainly I hope song is more clear and not so overloaded (and of course has a fadeout this time
. Just done mainly in hotel while being on a being for one week in bavaria for a GIS education. That was very demanding, so nights at the hotel with Notebook, Mulab some composition tools and Synthmaster player just relaxing....
https://soundcloud.com/richie-87/tatank ... ulung-2015
DAW: Mulab
Thirteen instances of Synthmasterplayer
Effects: Glace Verb on the Flute
Effects/Mastering: MhorseP3 V2/Nova 67 P/Limiter No6
Again I will have not much time for reading all the posts in the forum and answering, commenting on all the great songs that are and will be part of this contest again....
Hope thats o.k., I just love to be part of it as far as I can....
I really love this synth, especially for its great preset bank (I am more the preset type then the sound craftsman..), that is really extraordinary comparing to most synths I know. Here EVRY preset is really something special.
Love to you all, wish you a great competition, great experiences and

After reading all this I better don`t update my Synthmaster version. It works fine as it is at the moment, better I leave it the way it is.
Just for to tell you: I will not enter this month with a song, because I simply haven`t got the time for it. I can`t compose anything under this deadline pressure and so I simply let it be. I would rather deal with audio mastering this month (in my rare offtime) and hopefully can make some progress in this issue.
But I wish you all good luck and I`m also interested into the songs you all will produce this months and as far as offtime allows I will also comment them, but you don`t need to say: "Thanks Yvonne, good luck to you too"
Just for to mention it
Thanks again to all who made patches, to SoundGoddess for her effort to make this possible and to Bulent for supporting our idea and helping us
I`m glad this worked out so well.
Cheers
Yvonne

Thanks wagtunes. If I were an EDM producer I may have had a better time with SM but I always enjoy the OSC. It's a very friendly community, and provides a fun opportunity to indulge in a creative exercise. This has to be good for our brains!wagtunes wrote:

Can I thank all those who submitted their hard work to the community presets! Awesome job everyone. A good selection of patches. I used a few which had tweakable parameters exposed to us, and layered up the perc and drum stuff.
Hope you like my latest track to "drill" into your heads! Oh! THAT patch, great to work with and play ... submitted early as I may be away the rest of the month with no internet access - so any awful faults, please let me know ASAP.
Hopefully you'll get the idea of two synth players, trying to outdo each other and coming together at the end! Apologies if it sounds very Keith Emerson - but he's one of my synth influences, so I cannot deny or shy way from that.
The photo was a wee cub I photographed when I was working in Africa in the late 80's (working on the hydrology of the Kenyan Lake Basin! Yes, really). Also ferried stuff in for Live Aid as well - BA were good and didn't charge us - the Kenyan armed airport police were not quite so sure about the big containers - they liked to "examine" them with the butt of their automatics!
I digress ... good luck to everyone else too - looks like this will be a big entry again - fab stuff in already folks.
dB
PS Track updated - better ending! Better intro.

Indeed...and just when I was all ready to finally join in!Reefius wrote:Gonna skip this one since I don't own this synth and I've only entered 1 OSC. I thought OSC was always using freeware synths or free beta's so anyone can join, so I'm a little disappointed now

But the player is free. You are still able to join. OSC members even put together a free bank of patches with things like percussion for people using the player. I've heard some good tracks made with the player already, too!rp314 wrote:Indeed...and just when I was all ready to finally join in!Reefius wrote:Gonna skip this one since I don't own this synth and I've only entered 1 OSC.
