Yeah... Massive X is the one thing that is of interest to me... Blocks quality in a flexible semi-modular setup with wavetables sounds enticing!ghettosynth wrote:I also want Massive X. I suspect that they have incorporated what they've learned from Blocks and I expect that it will sound great.

how long does it usually take from new version release until the first 50% upgrade sale?

I'm also wondering if Massive X has some Reaktor under the hood. Wasn't Massive prototyped in Reaktor originally? I'm also curious if the Wavetable synth in Kontakt is a version of one of the oscillators in Massive X?

That is a good point. Hopefully what I am being a curmudgeon about is actually the underpinnings of an updated Reaktor under the hood. That would be swell.aMUSEd wrote:Not with Massive levels of polyphonydangayle wrote:Maybe it IS Reaktor under the hood, I don’t know. Maybe it is a VST wrapper around a complex ensemble (which is my guess). If you know, give us a wink and a nudge.

Yeah...I`m not too impressed seeing as how I`d just be upgrading to add Kontakt 6. I don`t really care about the rest, but I`ll see what the reviews say later.
One thing that might be cool is if Kontakt 6, with those wavetables, genuinely feels more like a synth and becomes a nice analog synth for MPE users.
I`ll consider getting the kontakt upgrade whenever it goes on sale, but overall, this is pretty meh.

Hey, sorry if it was already discussed- not able to read all replies... I am puzzled with the pricing. For years I was collecting Maschine expansions. They cost $50 each, I got some at half off, so $25, but for many I paid full price. Now they give them all for free. So how come we, the once that already paid for most of expansions don't get any credit? 50 expansions at average of 30$ is $1500. No credit at all? And If I was to upgrade to Ultimate and not Collectors edition- I don't get to select expansions that I don't have- I would have to accept duplicates? How does it makes sense?
Another question- how long does it take before they start to offer discount on upgrades if we buy Keyboard? Thank you.

I mean, you could ask this about any number of products that make up Komplete. There are people who have probably paid $100-250 for individual components of Komplete over the years and they don't get any sort of extra credit/etc. I bought all of the Symphony Series and I don't get any additional credit for the Komplete 12 Ultimate Collectors Edition. It's just the nature of this bundle.Astralv wrote:Hey, sorry if it was already discussed- not able to read all replies... I am puzzled with the pricing. There's probably some way for them to try and calculate additional discounts for people who had bought all of these things individually, but it's pretty tough to do.
And I wouldn't say they're giving them all away for free - they're only in the highest collection that costs $1599.

Maschine expansions never were part of Komplete, so there was no option to buy it as part of Komplete in the past. If they have hard time to calculate price for each expansion (Really?), then one discount of at least price of one expansion should cover it. As of Symphony series- if you have all of them and you get Ultimate, they should offer free upgrade to Collectors. Why would they expect you to pay 200$? For what?

You could always re-sell them, since they’re not linked to your upgrade.Astralv wrote:Hey, sorry if it was already discussed- not able to read all replies... I am puzzled with the pricing. I was interested in Massive X, until I seen it lol. Aesthetically, its more like a massive disappointment..............but.....im aware you can't please ALL the people ALL of the time.
I don't see any reason to update from Komplete 10 as I bought Reaktor 6 and Molekular separately. Maschine mk 2 still works fine.

You have seen Massive X? Where at?
I am sure many would disagree with me, especially those that would benefit from free inclusion expansion, but to me it is gross disregard of those who paid for them. It is not the same as buying one or 2 instruments earlier than others. It is more like if you wake up one morning and Komplete in it's Ultimate version is included in some other version for free at $100, when you paid $1200 for it.
And what are those new synths and libraries that they talking about? I don't see anything new.

So you've learned the hard way. You only buy Komplete, everything else that isn't bundled with hardware from NI is overpriced. What you get is you get to use the expansions when others haven't had access. So, if you buy something else from NI you buy it with the knowledge that you are probably paying too much for it and that someday other people will get it for a few bucks. Then, every once in a while, you get lucky because a product is discontinued before ever making it into Komplete or only making it into one version, so, not everyone has it.Astralv wrote:You have seen Massive X?
