No that is incorrect. What leads to to believe that?
  • a re-engineered Cabinet section with all-new DSP.
  • new Volumetric Impulse Response (VIR™) uses 600 IRs per speaker,
  • re-measured over 100 cabinets
  • import your own IRs
  • new built-in effects, some derived from T-RackS 5,

All the different IK releases / bundles / versions. Kind of science in itself. Some other developers act correspondingly. That combined with bargain offers makes it hard to judge if a purchase is a good deal or not.
YMMV.

Burillo wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2020 4:23 pm Amplitube 4 MAX will include everything that was out at the time of its creation (which is Feburary 2016), so won't include Dimebag, Satch and Brian May packs. That's the issue with the "MAX" versions - it's not actually MAX, it's just a bundle of stuff that was released up to a single point in time, and doesn't include any of the stuff that's released later. the bundle is never updated.

So, essentially, you have that issue even with Amplitube 4 MAX. With Amplitube 5 MAX, you won't have that issue right now, but will have it once IK releases new content for Amplitube 5. if you buy regular (5 or 5 SE) version, you'll still have that issue just like you do right now.
Thank you for the answer.

I think I was a bit imprecise as I was thinking about my previous question. None of that matter as far as CS is concerned. I only have bunch of stuff I have bought through CS4. So there's no reason to install CS5 if I do not care about the GUI.

caramik wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2020 4:17 pm Barely use it because everytime I select preset, I got a message saying there some component missing. I find this really annoying. To me is like having a softsynth with preset that once selected you receive a message telling that one is not available until you buy it.
So August 2020, I decide to buy Amplitude 4 MAX to avoid having this ''missing component'' message.
:dog:
Don't admit that to IK! I hate to see people giving in to this in case it was a deliberate strategy to get people to upgrade!

@ robotmonkey,
Understood. No problem. But we do not know yet exactly what AT5 CS provides.

The upgrade price is listed as €299. Is that an introductory price from any version of Amplitube? Or is that a price quoted to me at the IK site because I have AT4 Max?

Edit: I see that it is the same if I log out. So there is no benefit from owning Max when upgrading.
1) New users pay $/€399.99 not $/€299.99 for the AmpliTube 5 MAX upgrade/crossgrade so I'm not sure why you'd see the same price.
Aha. I was confused by the struck-out €399 and read the €299 as the intro price for Max.

So - if I get AT5 plus the Satriani addon (since I have the other packs already) for €249 I should basically have everything in AT5 Max per release date? Or am I missing something then. I have some jam points to spend so that is a good deal I think.
Yes, you would have all that's in AmpliTube 5 MAX come release date in that scenario. Make sure you use JamPoints too to make sure you take off any additional discount available to you.

Clicking "Compare Versions" on the AmpliTube 5 web page now provides a clear chart including what you get and what is limited in AmpliTube 5 CS.

The compare versions table is helpful. Looks like CS will be pretty powerful for those of us who are happy with the gear we have!

I think I'm gonna pass for this.
for 300 US that's a lot for an upgrade.
I rather prefer spend 200 more and got NI K13CE upgrade from K12CE now or waiting next year when they go on sale for half that price should be 250-300. That way I will have more for my money.

Looking at the chart, it looks like IK have placed good value throughout the offerings. Customers will have varying amounts of gear, and be able
to pick based on comparing what they have now, with what they want for the coming year. I have MAX 4, so getting the V5 CS makes sense to me. Someone with V4 CS could make a big jump with the V5 SE version,
and someone with the standard V4 and some sundries, could jump up
an order of magnitude, and get MAX 5, that is actually really MAX
until some new gear is released.

There really needs to be a .ini file, where customers can opt to remove
the un-owned-gear presets, and demo noisebursts should become
demo fade-outs, as at least one upscale competitor have done, and without filing for bankruptcy.

You would only need the $/€299.99 upgrade if you didn't have the seven collections that came out between AmpliTube 4 MAX and AmpliTube 5 MAX. Those are $/€680 purchased separately so even for just those it is quite a deal. But of course in that case you'd also a lot of new gear from AmpliTube 5 and all of the new features and engine.

However, if you already have the gear you want (or have all of that $/€680 worth of collections + AmpliTube 4 MAX) you would only need to upgrade to AmpliTube 5 SE to get the full features/engine of AmpliTube 5 or AmpliTube 5 to get the new gear plus the full features/engine too.
