Hi, can someone pls let me know how I can record the midi out from the Soundpaint plugin?
This isn't what you think.

hi, i still didnt try soundpaint, and it seems not very active here and popular?
does anyone use it? it looks like it is a better version of kontakt with more possibilities out of the box for end users with morphing capabilities etc.
how is soundpaint overall and can you recommend it? does it have something special or if you got various kontakt libraries and omnisphere it isnt something special anymore?

Well no sample players are discussed much here (really should be discussed in the Sample forum anyway).

People also don't talk about Orchestral Tools' Sine player, UVI Workstation, VSL's Synchron or Spitfire Audio's players (dedicated to each instrument).

Vi-Control is the forum to go to for detailed chat on all those.

In the end these players are just so sample companies can take control over their libraries. Many still make Kontakt libraries too, but there is a definite shift from the big players to their own tech.

Soundpaint is mostly old 8Dio libraries repackaged in more affordable packages. I prefer these versions to the 8Dio Kontakt versions. They are also adding new Soundpaint-only content. To be honest I never delve into the extra features, but there seems to be quite a bit of power in there and easier to access than in Kontakt.

VI-Control used to have discussion about it. 8dio/Sound paint pissed some people off with unnecessary legal threats. There is a thread about it there, and I think that is why they aren't talked about as much.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Since there is no active/recent topic I can see about Soundpaint, I comment here.
I recently discovered it, at first it looked confusing, but I spent a few hours yesterday tweaking it, and so far so good.

It's a good take on sampled instruments, I think. They load fast, unlike Kontakt, samples/libraries are cheaper than most, and the plugin itself gives you a lot of creative playground.

I couldn't find any user-made or third-party free libraries (programs?), though; it would be great if that could happen.

Is there anything must-buy? I already got 1976 and 1980 Rhodes and Duduk.
